Not sure if this is the thread for this, but it seems as good as anywhere for it. Anyone see the author of "Dangerous Hero", Tom Bower, call Jewish journalist Michael Segalov a "self-hating Jew" for defending the Labour Party on This Morning on Monday, with absolutely no challenge from any of the presenters or comment in other media?

Seems it's only antisemitism if it comes from the left these days.

You've used the similarity in usernames between me and another poster to put disgraceful anti-semitic claims into my mouth.

You need to clarify all this.

Waiting....

Ha ha. Amazing. You won't admit you made a mistake. I thought after your last post that might have been it. Quite spectacular. Come on now kiddo, let's have your apology you silly sausage.

Oh yeah, that was spectacularly grim a horrible term used to silence people with legitimate points

Again, and this is not to be disingenuous, most of the portrayals by Hodge et al as anti semitic were 'suggested' or 'percieved' and the promotion of these as 'actual' in the way they were reported set the charge in the public psyche as 'factual'.
It is not dissimilar to propaganda used in the past. I have had to be careful in the words I chose there. But there are tactics, innuendo, hearsay, agendas, all abound in the politics of now. How great is the prize when dignity, honesty and integrity are given up so readily?
Very, very few in the Westminster circus play with a straight bat, Skinner and a few of the younger ones are all I can think of. Mhairi Black works with conviction in the same way Ocasio Cortez does in the US and I genuinely hope they are the vanguards of a new breed, because this current batch of 'representatives' (sic) have taken public office to the lowest I can recall. For shame.

I do agree that the antisemitism has been 'used' by people who wish to use it as a stick to beat the Labour Party and Corbyn with and that this is part of a tactic against the Labour Party. My argument was that I feel this side of it is also being used to ignore a lot of genuine concerns or tarnish those making the comments.
And I do agree very few are above this.

Oh yeah "a mistake".

Last refuge of the scoundrel.

Ok, forget it mate. I thought you'd apologise and move on. Ignore list addition.

Genuinely my favourite interaction. I am sorry you've been unable to apologise for your mistakes and slander, davek, I really am

I'm gauging on probability, numbers and history, but in recent times I haven't seen any reporting of anti semitism cases in the conservative or other parties. Are they all squeaky clean? Course not, so that points to an agenda and it does a great, and heavily ironic, disservice to the genuine cases of anti semitism that take place as well as bigotry and prejudice of any type.
It's as if any reporting of any labour content would be prior recognised as bigotted.

I am not saying that, I was saying that those people exist.

Yes, and that general attack he made was poor (understandable given that many Jewish community leaders have been goading Labour under Corbyn since he got elected because Corbyn supports equality in Israel and a two state solution, but poor nevertheless). However, there's defo a case for whataboutery here and the many times more Conservatives who vilify in disgusting racist terms British Muslims.
