My quick scan of various bits of research shows the health impacts of winter fuel payments isn't perhaps as straightforward as many make out. There's some effect, but don't let that stop the shrieking hysteria of the likes of Dave.
Yeah, of course some will be negatively affected no doubt. But not exactly seeing it translate to excess deaths, so far. Hopefully it continues.

Just as an aside, my Dad’s a bit older than me ma. And when my mum was notified that she now qualified for the WFP, she went ape, as she didn’t even realise my dad had been getting it for years, as he’d kept his head down and just been trousering the £200 for beer money.

This is the way. The invisible beer coat keeps one warm.

Is anything not in crisis currently? 'cost of living', numerous 'churches', 'mental health', met pigs in special measures, 'housing', 'nhs beds', 'abused kids', 'knife crime'.

It's like this is just all water off a ducks back. Another day another dollar. When do we reach a crisis of crises?

Similarly, it's clear that the evidence shows migration to be beneficial, yet those evidence-based discussions never get any exposure. I read a paper this morning looking at the impact the forced displacement of people from America would have on the construction sector (and housing market generally), and it's nearly all bad news, with Americans not getting more work (less in fact) and also being worse off because house prices rise (despite "migrants not taking our houses...")

Jeff Bezos while building Amazon up, never just accepted evidence based data presented and would test with anecdotal evidnece.

“The thing I have noticed is that when the anecdotes and the data disagree, the anecdotes are usually right. There is something wrong with the way that you are interpting it.

His comment on customer services at Amazon that set him on the road testing evidence in reality, all evidence collected suggested phones were answered within one minute. He read about complaining customer's elswhere. So twice he phoned while sat round board room and took over 10 minutes each. Some weeks later after review, employees liked telling him what they thought he wanted to here...

Looks like labour have screwed the Astazenica 450m investment in speke. Not a good sign for growing the economy if they're scuppering deals that were already in place.
Cost alot of jobs and money in our area disgrace and sad...look after your voters ffs

Pie laying into Labour here and rightly so

Two things, firstly it is right to criticise labour, the tory toads crying about their lot being called out and it 'not being fair' because it doesn't happen to labour take note. And...

He's right, the honeymoon is well over, and the longer they take to get hold of something, anything, the more political hay their many many opposition will make. Do Something!

This seems like the right thing to do, but how close are current programs, or design software in say the computer games industry or cgi for the film industry to the kinds of softwares they're looking to penalise owner ship of, let alone use. Where will the cross over be and who's policing it.
