Are there any 'regeneration/growth' plans that aren't focused on the South East?

Heathrow, the so called 'silicone valley' between Oxford and Cambs...

There's growth and there's also the need to try and address longstanding regional inequalities. Even the Tories paid it lip service.

Gonna install data centres in Rochdale and Skegness innit :hayee:

The system never allows for such grown up discussions though. Pensions and migration are obvious examples. It's clear that the demographics of the country have changed and that pensions take up a growing portion of the budget, yet attempts to change the retirement age to make things more sustainable always get shouted down.

That's because neo liberalism no longer rewards hard work! Work more work longer and for less, people are switching off about their "productivity". Was big discussion at recent Davos, from China to Germany to UK to Japan and back...

Trafford Park apparently

Be interesting to see if RATcliffe benefits again.

100% he will benefit, he is currently playing games with the Government at the minute.

He has put a few major projects at his facilities in the UK on hold. He knows if he stops production in the UK it will be a knock on effect to neighbouring companies who use his by-products.

I see the Starmer rat was calling for more Thatcherism the other day.

Imagine having been conned to vote for him.

Must be humiliating for those who were.
No not really never thought we would have "maxium wage" policy out of this lot etc. What we do have is more competent governance in capitalist neo liberal world, rather than laughing stock to all and sundry while being robbed Tories. Some slight tacking back to centre, war of attrition and all that.
