The Italian courts prevented Italy from doing it in Albania. If countries want to run roughshod over several decades worth of international law then it's truly a sad time.Does "offshore processing" in the EU's case (assuming Philp hasn't just made that up entirely) mean that asylum claims would be handled geographically elsewhere but aside from that, successful claimants then onward travel into the relevant EU state? Because if so then it's not comparable to Rwanda at all, the UK were going to force the successful ones to to stay there instead.
I keep seeing "If Rwanda was so bad how come everyone else is now wanting to do it" but haven't yet seen that anybody is. Some German minister said they should look into it and that's somehow taken as evidence Boris was right all along.
It's always nice when politicians use asylum seekers as a political football to score points with.
In 2029 it is theorised£3 billion of cuts to welfare benefits announced this morning.
Socialism in action.
It's a £3 billion cut they'll make.In 2029 it is theorised
It's a "thing", as you put it, not because people think it's a thing, but because politicians have droned on and on about it. If I was cynical, I'd suggest they do so because it's easier to blame their failings on an "other". There's certainly been no shortage of examples of this over the last few centuries.Until people feel the ease in their cost of living various state apparatus working for them such as Housing NHS Social Services etc. People coming over on boats is going to be a thing.
They stomp around like it never happened.I'm not sure how anybody could take the political opinion of a brexiteer seriously ever again, it's pretty much concrete evidence that they are either lazy, ignorant or just frothingly bigoted to a point of self harm and should be ignored.
Not to say folk can't come back from that and admit an error and renew their engagement, I've seen very little of that though.
They stomp around like it never happened.
Correct as far as much of the media and right wing politician have made boats and asylum a thing. Of course its all deflection to protect much of the liberal economic ideology, you yourself subscribe too elsewhere. It's a "thing", as you put it, not because people think it's a thing, but because politicians have droned on and on about it. What are you on about?Correct as far as much of the media and right wing politician have made boats and asylum a thing. Of course its all deflection to protect much of the liberal economic ideology, you yourself subscribe too elsewhere.
Immigration why its problem and it really should not. Has been made/allowed to be a negative issue by those holding most of the wealth for self interest. Some of which economically you subscribe too yourself, you would faint if rent controls were put in place. What are you on about?
I'm not sure it's as straight forward as you make out. For instance, George Mason University, which is widely viewed as a liberal school, is at the forefront of open borders. Tony Benn, widely viewed as at the forefront of British socialism, was at the forefront of attempts to stop EU membership because of free movement. Who'd have known?Immigration why its problem and it really should not. Has been made/allowed to be a negative issue by those holding most of the wealth for self interest.
