Governments are hijacking farms all over Europe. In the Netherlands, they’re outright seizing them.

UK laws don’t allow that, so Labour have started to tax farmers more, and will continue to hike it and make farming impossible for independent families, until it’s so expensive that they all have to sell up and government & big tech own the means of food production. The same is happening in Germany, and tech companies are doing it in rural America.

This is Heaven for Labour and the left - have everyone dependent on the state, even to the point where they can’t eat without government control.

This isn’t about ‘filling a Tory black hole’ or ‘getting unpopular policies out of the way early in the election cycle’, it’s about making the population as subservient and dependant as possible, and doing it early so it can’t be reversed 5 years down the line.
Is it maybe about getting multi millionaires to pay tax , you reckon that’s a possibility?

Just like employer increased NI contributions will hit the likes of amazon and starbucks and a host of other international companies dodging tax. The time has come for big business to pay up. Had it to easy to long. Let em cry, it's easy moaning when the corporate expense account covers private medical, there's other waiting years for procedures with the NHS.

Personally I’d have like to have seen that targeted at the big employers but yeah with that , this farmers inheritance tax and removal of VAT on school fees you can see why they’re doing their best to rile the populous

There actually aren't any farmers left, are there? Every single man jack of them turns out to be a Lord, a TV personality of 30+ years, a media baron, a business mogul, or Andrew Lloyd Webber. Useful idiots like that gurning dimwit singing in the pub are just paid lackies and don't own a bean.

Get 'em Rach. Hold them upside-down and shake them until the very dirt from their fields comes falling from their grubby little pockets.

"My children will take all their lives to pay off the tax bill". Sell up then, that's what everyone else has to do. Tax doesn't just appear out of a vacuum, you have to have gained something to have to pay it.

It’s great watching you lefties celebrating tax increases for farmers and businesses. Of course what you forget is that in four and a half years Starmer and Reeves will be voted into the bin of political failures and a Tory or Tory/Reform coalition will undue all of the harm that you are enjoying at the moment….four and half years and counting……tick tock, tick tock….

I’m certainly not celebrating ‘business tax rises ‘ thats for sure. blokes with castles getting taxed on inheritance I’m less bothered about

When the Tories scraped home in 2010, only narrowly beating Financial-Crash Bigoted-Woman Brown, and went about their austerity project I'm sure there were a ton of Left-leaners rubbing their hands with glee at what such a tone-deaf coalition government was doing to destroy the nation and what it meant for Labour's prospects in 2015. That went well for them (not that the ensuing victory was anything other than a death knell for Cameron's premiership given how bungled the Remain campaign was).

It's silly making political predictions for years down the line, but it's sillier still to do it on the basis of the opinion columns found in the Telegraph (or the Guardian for that matter). The GE campaigns of 2029 won't revolve around today's WFA cuts or farmers paying their fair share, no matter how incensed the likes of Camilla Tominey can pretend to be for a payday.

How did you not see the open goal of asking him to button it for a while?

Apparently Reeves spoke at the CBI saying that the budget is good for growth and employment. Of course no one believed her and they carried on planning to cut jobs and wages when it all kicks in…a bit like no one believes ‘I’m an economist’ anymore……..

Great to see you're sympathy for Tory millionaires Pete, what loyalty is all about.
