It’s baffling how folk find it really hard to grasp that new governments who have to make potentially unpopular decisions, like when trying to start fixing the rubble left from Brexit, Boris & Truss, do it early.

I’d wager the majority of those petition signers would lose their heads if reversing Brexit was up for discussion despite it turning out to be a complete disaster just as predicted.
Exactly

The single biggest thing to have shafted small farmers in recent times has been Brexit.

Absolutely disgusting to see many of the architects of it now parading around in Barbour jackets, flat caps and wellies pretending they give a shiny [Poor language removed] about farmers. Political opportunism of the lowest kind. A pox on these people, and may their children be accursed to the Nth generation.

Also, Labour's comms team have, yet again, made an utter bollox of this and need firing into the sun. Starmer and Reeves would do well not to go anywhere on a narrowboat for a while in case some enraged farmers drop a cow on them.

There is no way that Russia or China would have bots signing this pretending they are in the UK, surely. Also given that Musk is pushing this on twitter I am confident that he wouldn't tinker either.

BBC 2 tonight, 7pm. BBC interview with Angela Merkel. Should be very telling.

Governments are hijacking farms all over Europe. In the Netherlands, they’re outright seizing them.

UK laws don’t allow that, so Labour have started to tax farmers more, and will continue to hike it and make farming impossible for independent families, until it’s so expensive that they all have to sell up and government & big tech own the means of food production. The same is happening in Germany, and tech companies are doing it in rural America.

This is Heaven for Labour and the left - have everyone dependent on the state, even to the point where they can’t eat without government control.

This isn’t about ‘filling a Tory black hole’ or ‘getting unpopular policies out of the way early in the election cycle’, it’s about making the population as subservient and dependant as possible, and doing it early so it can’t be reversed 5 years down the line.
