Last time Labour got a lead this big, it took Tories 4-6 terms to win a proper majority.

They are much further behind now. Labour are in for the next 30 years.

Rome wasn't built in a day. Labour will need at least a term to start unpicking all the damage done over the last decade.

We all have issues close to our hearts just some of are a little more stoic it seems, indeed it would be a little naive or just Tory to think Labour would be able to sort everything everyone cares about in their first month or so. Or to even begin to address it.

People said this about the tories at the last election.

The system is so volatile at the moment it’s silly to make any bold predictions like this.

Yes the did. And they seem to be the same people saying Labour will.be out quickly. I'm not going to take much notice of them.

I did not say the Tories would be in forever, and made quite clear I always thought Labour had a good chance of winning. I'm not going to take much notice of people who called the last 5 years terribly.

Pretty much the consensus was Johnson would be his own worst enemy and would mess it up. That opinion was pretty rounded and even from his own side of political spectrum hence the purge within the Conservatives. We were all wrong at how bad he was, turned out Johnson was the worst of us.

I am worried about Reeve's the ex Banker - & Starmer stated no Austerity & bang what ever part of the public who got it was in some cases the poor, disabled etc who will now suffer - yes by all means take the fuel allowance of the rich people who don't need it a certain tax bracket etc - my late best mate used to claim pension credit - he had a safe loaded with moneys under his floorboard 5 VW camper vans on his front when the interest rates were low - that's what people will do in the future .....

Labour should hammer the rich - he trusted no governments .....
By Jo reckon you are getting it. I'm guessing your mate name was Peter David...

This is correct.

it for two years only - it was a help, but I can get by as my son has a good salary - Just been listening to LBC - a crap storm of callers who have missed the benefit for a few £s per week on pension credit - plus - the 800 ,000 who were too proud to claim it the phone number given no one is picking the phone up at the DWP - no staff to do this as I pointed out - This is a sick Tory like policy even George Osborne the King of Austerity stated it was a good idea ... why not just not take it to the very rich pensioners on the 40% tax band upwards ?

Again Reeves had a legal right to reduce the NI payments & get 9 billion back of the deficit which benefited the very high earners - done illegally by Hunt - that would have hit home with a 1/3 of the benefit cut back straight away as the £9 billion was illegal not cut back from any other budgets just a magic wand - he used an election gimmick ? the low earners got ver little again it was the rich that prospered with those NI cuts ....

Or hit the Bankers Bonuses - oh she was a top Banker .... this is only the beginning. A Labour government wearing a Blue rosette, & Starmers words there will be no austerity in my Labour Government went up in flames in just 2 weeks -

Shame on him - & I fear the is worse to come from them IMO .... they will be out in the next term at this rate - his % of vote was less than Corbyns ... so IMO he is on thin ice to start with !

@davek another recruit for your brand new, shiny socialist party.

With @peteblue already on board, you`ll soon have enough to fill a phone box.

OK Mr clever clogs so you think a socialist government cutting the winter fuel allowance to the bone - Cut it yes - but in a better way & get that unsolicited 9 billion back of what the Tories illegally handed out ..... the country is doomed any way - I'm off to Jersey for the 2nd time - the French people don't put up with crap like this .......

Jersey has a much more temperate climate Joey, so you won`t need any heating.

You won`t need polytunnels to grow your crop either, so you`ll be saving money there too.
