And that’s no way to run a country while pretending to be a caring political party. Maybe Starmer could ‘take the knee’ to support the elderly. He would be well advised to be careful, he didn’t ‘win’ the election as he didn’t really get more votes than Corbyn, the conservatives lost it because normal conservative voters refused to vote….
The Tories most definitely lost the election. Spectacularly so.

Hey Pete I’ve had a search and I can’t find it , in 2022 the tories scrapped the warm homes discount scheme in relation to those on disability benefits meaning that 300,000 lost out straight away . Were you unaware , didn’t you not care or were you not seeking to make political capital then ?

Interestingly the then government did nothing then to assist those who missed out or try and see if they qualified for any other benefit . whereas the current government have actually written within theirs that they’re aware of the shortfalls of those applying for pension credit who actual qualify and are working with local authorities to ensure that’s rectified and then they’d still be awarded the payments.

I’ve never even heard of a warm homes discount scheme sorry. If the government do work with local authorities and care groups to ensure that those who need it get it then I will cheer them, but I shall not be holding my breath…..

When it was cut it didn’t impact on you Pete and the media didn’t seek to make it out like a declaration of war on all disabled people .

Funny isn’t it

I mean, wow, you've voted Tory the last how many years?

Or are you saying there's no pretence of niceness from the Tories and you merrily voted 'nasty party'?

No idea what you are on about in the last bit, you've gone full Davek.

Labour have always promoted this ‘holier than thou’ image, just before they wreck the economy and cause real damage to those who struggle and actually deserve support. The Conservatives normally do a decent job of the economy, but things like Covid don’t help….

Thank god we've had the Tories for the last 14 years to hand the baton off in such a strong economic position.
