This is spot on from James O'Brien.
Basically: "Starmer's plan is to underline that migration is necessary for the economy but to try and soothe the people he looks to get to vote for him that it's not out of control".
His whole reputation has been shot to pieces now, because there's some notion he's called them all thugs and racists.
But this is all ultimately down to the fact he's truckled to the Red Wall voters and ramped up the nationalism he believes they all want to hear - and now he cant hold them.
His premiership will be dogged by this because he's going to have to steer away from any sort of policy that attempts to open borders for movement of any kind.
I said after the election that he'd be hated by most decent people in this country by Christmas. In actual fact, he's hated now by those who aren't right or fair minded...the constituency I thought he'd be able to fall back on for support.
He's in a lot of trouble this man.

Look around the globe it was everywhere ,African, Asian America ect and for far longer
(Moses in Egypt, ring a bell) periods than in the UK.
First anti slavery laws were just after 1066 in England.
Portuguese for instance far more involved in the slave trade over a longer period.
Even the Swiss backed and funded it.
The north African nations even today still have slavery.
The difference is the only ones that put a stop to it was the country you seem to hate.

That wasn't colonialism it was enslavement for personal use of slaves.
Colonialism was a strategy of various European mercantilist states to promote the creation and movement of commodities around the globe and to the advantage of the colonial power.
