As scum is a comment on someone's character rather than their race, I'd suggest that would be preferable.

You describe what happens when Government becomes dysfunctional. Not sure how anyone can blame 99% of all politicians for the vast majority where we find ourselves after 14 years of Tory Governments.

They have promised the world whilst pretending reality doesn't exist. Fact of the matter is see the investigations showing how many, many projects have been promised for their political capital whilst not being budgeted for.

Labour is trying to make the country functional again. This involves getting more revenue whilst making cuts. If that's 99% of all politicians, then that explains why the country has gone down the road for the past 14 years.

If pensioners like your good self want to avoid more cuts, may i suggest a campaign for a relatively quick and easy boost to growth by eliminating trade barriers with our biggest trading partner. The one that they majority voted to cut ties with. That's 4% to GDP right there, which covers the £500 mill and more.
