Yeah that should do it, a new unit. Meanwhile he’s been promoting early release for prisoners and mentioned nothing about kids carrying zombie knives, but tbf neither the Tories. A law that gives a minimum and mandatory sentence of ten years imprisonment for anyone caught carrying one, together with stop and search of kids / young adults of any colour being blitzed in cities may just bring this to an end. The softly softly approach hasn’t worked, and stabbings are going through the roof. Build houses by all means, but also announce the building of half a dozen new prisons….London and some cities have become cesspits…..

So if our teenage kids go into town they might be randomly stopped & searched & that’s fine by you? At what age do “young adults” get the same right we would have not to be frisked for no reason?

I agree, but in the last five weeks we’ve had quite a number of absolute mayhem events, not the governments fault, but once in government the issue belongs to you… looking forward to them doing something……
Expecting to reverse 15 years of abject failure in 5 weeks is a bit unrealistic tho, dont you think?

I can’t speak for all parents of teenagers but I’d be pretty confident my view that they shouldn’t be stopped & searched solely for existing in public would be shared by the majority.
No matter what blanket draconian measures, that I suspect don’t impact you for some reason, you feel we “should” accept.

It doesn’t impact me at all, I live in a part of the country where the nearest towns and our village are safe and secure. But a great many people in the U.K. don’t. Even here the towns have bouncers on the doors of pubs and clubs. I would prefer some form of stop and search as opposed to visiting my children in hospital…but hey each to their own….
I assume you have been on a plane, gone through security, maybe had liquids removed or been frisked and had to take your shoes off. We never used to do it. Is it an infringement of our human rights or a sensible approach to not being blown out of the sky. Would the teenagers you speak of rebel against this, I doubt it. Unfortunately it’s now the world in which we live, but we can actually do something about knife crime and random stabbings without people moaning about civil liberties. It tends to be the scumbags of this world who would be against it…….
