That wasn't colonialism it was enslavement for personal use of slaves.

Colonialism was a strategy of various European mercantilist states to promote the creation and movement of commodities around the globe and to the advantage of the colonial power.
taking over another's land and taking them into enslavement ,
And making money out of it, isnt colonialism?
Mongols And others
Various north African rulers of Spain, eastern Europe Ect
The list goes on.
Very narrow view you have mate.

I'm merely saying that the classic understanding of colonialism - which is a very definite category of exploitation - is that it started in Europe in the 15th/16th centuries by mercantilist powers, the Portuguese and Spanish initially. What was going on elsewhere before that was plunder and empire - like the Greek and Roman empires.

Colonialism involved the politics and economy of a nation being turned toward overseas domination of lands to exploit, and in many cases enslave, populations but to also drag those colonized lands and their inhabitants into a developing capitalism system (mercantilist at first, then industrial capitalism by the end of the 18th century).

The East India company is a good example of this.

Unreal this, Dave is now blaming stuff that happened in the 15th and 16th century on Starmer.

Look around the globe it was everywhere ,African, Asian America ect and for far longer
(Moses in Egypt, ring a bell) periods than in the UK.
First anti slavery laws were just after 1066 in England.
Portuguese for instance far more involved in the slave trade over a longer period.
Even the Swiss backed and funded it.
The north African nations even today still have slavery.
The difference is the only ones that put a stop to it was the country you seem to hate.
Put a stop to it doesn't quite make it. As taxpayers we didn't stop paying reparations until 2015 for 'abolition'.
One country missing from above was one of the worst, and that was Belgium.

@JimmyJeffers is this flexing?

Starmer's Gang wont use the word Islamophobia for a very good reason: they've been banged to rights in an official judicial report for having senior officers of their party charged with Islamophobia.

You cant expect this lot to clear up the mess. They're just a party without ideals and zero credibility on either side of the fence - with far right extremist attackers and Muslim communities being attacked.

A busted flush.
