Anyway, I know when I’m banging my head against an idiotic wall so I bid you goodnight ….enjoy your future, say hello to your parents and grandparents from me and let them know that at least someone cares…..
Pete, it's interesting that you're worried about peoples' parents and grandparents now whilst supporting Boris who let thousands of them die during Covid, in his words, "let the bodies pile up".

If this had been done by the Tories I’d have said exactly the same. I am a socialist at heart and behave accordingly, however socialism requires money to pay for it , the Tories know how to generate money , Labour doesn’t and never has….

You’re not a socialists so why are you lying?

Nothing wrong with not being a socialist, i wouldn’t even consider myself one.

Changing the fuel payments was an easy decision to make and that saving will go towards improving our public services.

Vast majority of people will go without something they didn’t need

Socialist lol

My problem is that young folk like yourself are so selfish now that you cannot even think ahead to what life may be like for yourself when you become a pensioner. Most pensioners struggle, but rarely complain. They cannot go back to work, having done so all their lives, no doubt far longer than the years some on here have been on the planet, and are therefore at the mercy of whatever government is in power. As I’ve said earlier if the Tories had done this you and most on here would be up in arms, myself included, but because it’s Labour you are all making excuses for them. These are the facts of life which many on here have no experience…..
I think most people my age don't think there will be a state pension by the time we get to retirement age, due in large part to the Boomers making it unaffordable.

What an amusing bit of politics and PR. Back in June, the IFS said no surprises for the new government.

Paul Johnson from IFS.

I suppose OBR move to investigate Hunts pre Election figures changed everything.

As previous post your in denial of facts of the matter.

Yet It really didn't have to be like this.

Most of the world went down the austerity route. But unlike other countries the Tories didn't reverse course when they they should have and didn't take advantage of historically low interest rates.

They didn't have to let ideological infighting result in Brexit.

If they had borrowed to invest when the time was right, stood firm against UKIP, if Boris didn't let his own lust for power corrupt him, if they'd came up with a viable and working plan to deal with immigration if Blue rinsers had not chosen Thatcher 2000 in Truss then all of us would not be in this mess we are in now.

I see Brexit is being wheeled out again, and we’ve had three PM’s since Boris, I’m just surprised that Maggie didn’t get a mention. Starmer is the PM, he is in charge, the choice to attack pensioners in order to give pay rises to his public sector union backers is down to him and Reeves and nobody else. Every single PM a makes mistakes, but to have deliberately lied during the election knowing full well what he was going to do is unforgivable. Well it worked, he lied to become Party Leader and he lied to become PM. I wanted the last government out of office but dear god him and Reeves have ensured that they will be gone at the next election. I expect his assault on the 10 million or so pensioners to continue…..

It’s the government, not the boomers, who set the pension, including both Blair and Brown. However it was Blair and Brown immediately who raided pension funds and ruined the pensions of millions so they could spend on their client state. Starmer is doing exactly the same, so point your finger at those in power and not the ‘boomers’ ,you know, your parents and grandparents, who seem to be incorrectly blamed for everything…..

Now it's been proven that Tory Government had enacted unfunded policy in National Insurance cut, I fully expect that tobe reversed now, as Reeves has moral case to justify due to the shear untruths Conservatives and it's Government have peddled. So rest easy in the pitty potty.

Indeed, my point being that there’s about 800,000 who should be entitled but for reasons of pride, health or mental capability haven’t. It’s these that I’m raising this for.
These have not been affected at all by the announcement though. If they are entitled but not claiming they are still entitled and still not claiming.

Hunt is and was an idiot. The NI reduction was pure stupidity and should be reversed, but I doubt she will do so……

This

I doubt I'll even get to retire

I'm probably working until I die or I until get medically disqualified from working, at which point I'll probably get some kind of benefit payment (if they still exist in the likely hellscape that will be the future) rather than a state pension
