Ed Miliband strikes again. Having given almost no thought to food production, and against the views of the planning inspectorate, he has authorised a humongous solar power set up in eastern England …he really is a dangerous buffoon…

“ Mr Timothy pointed out that the Examining Authority – the Government’s planning inspectors – stated that the scheme’s significant costs were not outweighed by any kind of public benefit.

“Across the country, people living near proposed giant solar and battery farms should beware – the Government has made clear it is not willing to listen to the evidence, the experts or local residents,” he said.

Charlotte Cane, the Liberal Democrat MP for neighbouring Ely and East Cambridgeshire said she was “shocked” that the Energy Secretary had “overridden all advice to the contrary and given this scheme permission”.

She added: “Green energy is vital, and solar farms are key to meeting our net zero targets. But that must not mean that every solar farm application should get permission regardless of its impact on our food security, biodiversity, landscape character and our existing farming and horse racing businesses.”

But hey ho, he’s been at it for a couple of days so must have given it his full intellectual appraisal, while ignoring those who have been pondering this for a while, he really is a danger to the country……

the public have had enough of experts.

food production? try turnips.

"ignoring those who have been pondering this for a while, he really is a danger to the country……"

Good un.

Four ministers have quit the Welsh government, saying that First Minister Vaughan Gething must go.
Gone at last. Much stronger vetting is needed within Labour, how he got to be on the leadership ticket and then Labour members voted for him to be leader is beyond parody, it ended exactly how many predicted.

It isn’t a problem of vetting, so much as it is one of who they are bringing in as candidates.

People with no life experience, no achievements of their own but who owe their positions to factions or patronage (as Gethin did) are much more susceptible to the things he got in trouble for. The trouble for Labour is that it’s precisely those types who form the bulk of the PLP now.

I hope people in Wales realise now what a good thing they had in Mark Drakeford.
