From personal experience I'd suggest a Duty of Candour law might be one of the most important objectives, if they can deliver it.
Absolutely, but it’s got to be comprehensive and it’s got to protect junior staff.

Understood, but again from experience, I'd suggest that it is sometimes the junior staff that require scrutiny.Absolutely, but it’s got to be comprehensive and it’s got to protect junior staff.
The King's Speech is just performative virtue signalling. Tony Benn described our society as semi-feudal and he was very right to do so. Nationalisation is good, nationalisation without compensation is ideal. I think the Labour plan is to nationalise as every contract expires, that's going to take years potentially and more rip-offs for customers. If Labour wants to actually win over Tory voters, which it largely didn't do in this election, then it'll need to actually change things.
So...
Renationalising the railways!!
Will save money ,This should be fun. I don’t disagree with the strategy per se, but its execution by our useless CS will be both fun to watch, and expensive….
Will save money ,
Just take the companies back as they come to an end or fail as normal, majority are already under governance control anyway , very few are running under there own steam these days.
No profits going out of the country to keep other countries rail services going, Dutch. Ect.
Need to cull the top staff, and get back focused on running a service for the public.
Vast blame game at the moment for anything that goes wrong it's not are fault ,basically if network rail are at fault the rail companies make a claim on them and vise versa.
It's a shambles to be honest.
Staff need to be trained up better safely ect,
staff used to be much better trained and had to pass a rules test every two years or get taken off the job.
A structured approach to the whole industry needs bringing back.
Ticket system needs to made much more simple and transparent.
Under BR, we had cheap day , standard. Lower and higher saver, first class, and odd ones like sleeper tickets, you could still book places on them if you needed a quota.
It was easier for the public to understand and less of a minefield.
Privatisation has been a mostly a disaster.

Labour Government getting stuck in.
This should be fun. I don’t disagree with the strategy per se, but its execution by our useless CS will be both fun to watch, and expensive….
It's about background noise, it's the….after 41 years of working for the CS, Conservative governments have always run it into the ground so have no fear the service offering will significantly improve under Labour, it always does![]()
It's about background noise, it's the

- legitimate decisions to dump raw effluent wherever we like for profit
- the requirement of more 'graft'
Without question, there is no option of blame and responsibility for anyone connected with the tory machine except backstabber sunak somehow.
This is how the embittered and vengeful (and often hyper entitled) will settle into a pattern of behaviour to ratchet up the pressure against anyone not them.

"a good ******* job" no less. Well I never.
It's amazing they can point at anything with their hands full of so much wealth acquired on the tab of the nation. All that filthy money, all those favours done, all those offshore accounts.…..I’ll add the court backlog, the prison overcrowding, ambulance wait, NHS in crisis, inadequate public transport, immigration mess et al.
Everywhere you look, the Conservatives have run public services into the ground and they point their arrogant fingers and blame others.
