I know what you mean, as an Englishperson I was incensed when I saw this on Friday:

Oh wait no, I got that wrong. I wasn't incensed. In fact I didn't see it at all, because I don't follow the Twitter accounts of political parties like some sort of obsessed weirdo.

TBH I’ve never met a person who said “I support all the British teams” that wasn’t a knob.

So none of the 'Labour guys' have anything mature to say about actual policy ?

This is so like Brexit, including the lack of research, fantastical projection, intolerance of nuance and blind religious zeal.

What Labour policies are you wanting to discuss? The religious zeal is a bit strong like it's not the Donald Trump thread ;)

I don't think i'm too far off the mark mate. I'm just surprised these chaps aren't discussing them in an open manner, after all in an election it's very important to do some research before voting, and with Brexit and Johnson there are some recent valuable lessons to be digested, yet these guys seem keen to follow their 'nudged' intuition to become this decades Brexiteers.

Is the something that is worrying you in the policies that you think should be spoken about in a more open manner?

When some peoples way of acquiring knowledge is solely from social media or watching the news I wouldn't be to surprised when they miss the mark on certain topics.

I don't think any policy has been discussed in here since they were formalised, which is rather odd considering. Perhaps you're right, maybe I should realise that Labour's support is only superficial nowadays and I shouldn't expect rational engagement.

As you're fairly new Sean, maybe have a look at the discussions that took place before the Brexit vote and previous elections ? Just a quick skim and contrast with the present.

Think it’s probably down to there being no real surprises in the manifesto, as it’s all trailed ahead of time.

Building 1.5m new homes, scrapping the Rwanda scheme, 40,000 more NHS appointments per week, voting for 16 year olds, VAT on private school fees - people knew most of the key pledges way ahead of the manifesto publication.

I'm sure people want to, but recently these threads have been hijacked by a small number of posters who don't want to discuss policy but rather anti party or anti leader sentiments which isn't helpful for anyone.

Criticism of leaders and parties is part and parcel of this though, and it's easy enough to scroll through the tit-for-tat. Maybe you're onto something though, do you think that 'shy-tories' may have migrated to become 'shy-labour' ?

I thought it was pretty obvious that most people are voting for Labour because they're literally the only option available if we're to get rid of the Tories. Speaking for myself, I'd say that the manifesto is largely pointless anyway. I mean the Tories pledged to do some levelling up in the last manifesto. I'm happy to judge Labour on how they actually perform rather than what they promise to do.

I would like them to get in and to be brutally honest about the harm done in the last 14 years and how the most glaring aspects will be addressed.

Just to begin with.

Honesty and communication is the key when they get in.

We all know that the country is in a mess, but they need to clearly lay out why it`s a mess and how much it`s going to cost to fix it.

From my own personal point of view, I wouldn`t mind paying more tax, if I knew it was going to be spent properly on trying to remedy the mess they`re about to inherit or going to line the pockets of " preferred bidders ".

I confess I didn't watch the whole 2 hours + of that video.
A 13-ish year old who hacked a US gov server looking for UFO stuff was going to be extradited to the US for a C70yr sentence by Starmer but May overruled his decision.
Very long, had it on in the background.
