He seems happier than I’ve ever known. Let him run free.

They weren't laughing at his dad, they were laughing at him for exploiting his memory for the umpteenth time.

Anyway, his dad 'kin hated the snobby nouveau riche get.
Not for the likes of you and I and those in audience who most likely follow politics most of the time, it's for electorate who just switch onto poltics in and around elections.

What finally cut through to me with the Nick Robinson interview is Starmer's track record of turning organisations around. He listed 4 times he has taken on increasingly large organisations and succeeded with them. He has certainly done this with the Labour party...

He's not exciting, but his skill is seeing what he needs to done and doing it. I just hope he can do the same with the country, which is a massive step up than the leader of the opposition role. I think he does have a chance of creating growth, his systematic and thorough approach could do it.

I think cometh the hour, cometh the man applies in this case. I really do say this as someone who isn't a massive fan just begrudgingly accepts vast majority in the UK will cleary not accept Labour last election attempt, so pragmatism over principles.

Of course, if he's a total flop as PM please feel free to mock/vault this post in the future.

Take a look at his conduct as DPP. It's horrendous. Allowing spy cops rapes; allowing torture, throwing out questions of Met assassination tactics.

By allowing a bit of planning bureaucracy to be torn up? Theres no chance of growth in this economy. Capital is just not investing. The only chance for growth of any description was a huge public stimulus - especially of the green economy...something he tore up in another u-turn. Without massive pump priming of the economy we'll have stagnation or worse.

Guaranteed.
