What would you do if you were Corbyn in this situation?

I understand what corbyn is trying to do, but it just looks like he isnt willing to try...very shortsighted

Too make some sense of what he is, or isnt doing, you have to remember his closest advisor is holding his hand throughout.

If some profiles of him are even close to being on the money, that guy has zero interest in the EU, nor on much else, other than getting his pal and political bedfellow into power. He knows there was less than 0% of that ever happening when Corbyn was a nonenity on the back benches, so will stretch every sinew and event now there is this unexpected opportunity.

In my humble opinion.

I just don't understand what people want Corbyn to do. Propose a people's vote? Great but no majority in Parliament and alienates a huge chunk of the electorate. Back Theresa May's deal? Absolutely not because it's not in the country's interest.

The European Union could be the bloke's specialist subject but he would still be managing an almost impossible situation.

you'd would think his advisors would be advising him better...

Well maybe, maybe not. Point is, his advisor has little, or close to nil, interest in anything else other than getting Corbyn into No 10.
So im guessing he is trying to force an election at whatever cost possible, but corbyn not participating in talks makes him such an easy target for torys/the press...

Could be. Or it could be that the gamble is a terrible Brexit will deliver the keys to him in an inevitable GE. Ergo, so any part Corbyn could play to make a half decent one could actually make No 10 further off.

For months people, myself included it must be said, thought Corbyn was playing a clever game.

Sitting on the sidelines doing nowt whilst the Tories tore themselves to pieces.

But it seems he wasn’t.

His inaction was due to fact he had not got a clue what to do.

For some bizarre reason he thought enough Tories would vote to bring their own government down with three and a half years of this parliament to run.....and calling fir an election was the only tactic in his playbook.

Thank you Ed Milliband, for changing the rules and allowing the Eejit wing of the Labour Party to foist this fellow upon us.

After the week the Government has had, how the heck can the leader of the Opposition conspire to make his own inadequacies the main talking point as it draws to a close?

hand the weapons out and ambush the other parties as they came through the lobby . maybe leave the greens alone as there so nice just rob there money and boot them up the arse.
leg the tories as Boris shouts stand and gets webbed everywhere live on tv
while Bercow does a punk karaoke set
Then declare the people's republic of the UK

Truly detestable fella, this Jeremy Corbyn. A good friend of mine works for the Labour party and tells me that Corbyn is pretty much universally disliked within the party. Hardly surprising.

Within the upper levels of the machinery of the party he probably is; let’s face it there were more than a few people placed in positions of responsibility within the party whose competence went unquestioned until Corbyn came along.

Events since - the turnaround in finances, the membership increase, electoral performance especially and even things like internal discipline matters (which Corbyn hasn’t been very good at, though at least the likes of Danczuk were suspended when previously nothing might have happened like with Kelvin Hopkins) have proved that they were in fact a bit rubbish.

The end result is that a lot of people who might have hoped for a safe seat, a peerage or at least some quangoship sent their way are now looking for actual jobs or having to do actual work. I imagine it must have come as a bit of a shock.

what is the point of Corbyn saying he will not meet May unless she agrees to no deal being off the table, then we have Benn and Cooper going to see her,
sort of makes a mockery of his stance .
Am i missing something here?

I agree he should have met her, if only to hear what the rest of us have been told today about them not compromising on any of their red lines. Then I’d hope he would have walked out.
