They've been embraced by business and the media because they represent a safe pair of hands for Toryism to survive while the official lot sort themselves out.

This election is no choice. Starmer's lot have tried on the clothes of the Tories and they'll get in because they'll - apparently - be disciplined and regain credibility for the political process...which is what business and the civil service wants.

That's all there is to see here. There's nothing other than smashing their own membership and moving rightwards toward the Tory ground to see here. And EVERYONE knows it.

Go and take a look at any previous LP manifesto that's returned a Labour Government...even, partially speaking, including Blair's lot.

They were well to the left of what Corbyn was promising to do, and they got in.

Dont try and re-write history to suit your support for a right wing 'Labour' leadership.

Blair was called many things but not one of them left wing of Socialist, don't lecture me when you are abstaining, voting Green party, GB Socialist party or whatever flavour of the month party it is. You haven't a clue what you're doing or saying half the time mate, except for trying to ensure the Labour party don't get in. Next week you'll be all over Farage defending Trump. I'm voting Labour never changed ǹever will it's called loyalty, you may want to try it sometime.

You can vote Labour, but you are getting Tory. Loyalty comes from respect. This is the first time I will not be voting for “Labour”.

That is you're choice fine, but tell me what is the alternative ? This is a two party race end of. The Tories will be loving this division, it could well give them and us another 14 years of misery.

Green and hopefully a hung parliament. The thought that Starmer will have so much power genuinely concerns me.

Admirable, but what will a hung Parliament bring ? Will it did anything definitely not, in fact it could make it a hell of a lot worse. Don't forget it won't be just Starmer that will govern its a Labour party with hopefully 300 MP's to answer to. The Labour party is not just Starmer, one thing I am certain of it has to be better than the Tory party, I ask people are you happy with the last 14 years ? If not vote Labour.

This attitude is why Labour (and FWIW the Tories) are in such a mess. Vote for your MP - if they are good and represent Labour vote for them, if they are not good but are still Labour then consider alternatives.

I will happily vote Labour this time because my current MP is fantastic; if I lived where I grew up (which has a new person standing as MP after an open selection) then I'd vote Labour too but if I lived in the constituency that has just had Akehurst imposed on it then I'd absolutely not vote for him. He does not deserve it, nor do Labour for imposing him. I hope they lose that seat because of what they've done.

Again, you seem to be under the impression that the average man on the street had entirely organic, self generated issues with him. If people had these - and it’s certainly possible to criticise him for lots of things - then that’s entirely fine.

However the vast majority of people seemed to to list the things they’d been told about him by the papers and the commentariat as what they disliked about him. You’ve cited several things there, all of which were breathless exclusives.

Were those things actually true? Often the answer is “not really”.
That all sounds great and idocrinated stuff.

You have a choice if you want the Tories out its simple it's vote Labour anything else us a wasted vote. Call me whst you want question my principles, this vote will be a lot closer than many people think. The newspapers/ media are already changing their colours again as the election gets nearer. I've heard off a few posters recently, on how they want a hung Parliament that will solve nothing and make our Parliament a farce. That hung Parliament thing came from @davek, naturally just repeating what Sunak is begging for an that tells you all you need to know.

What makes it difficult is that as it stands voting for Starmer's Labour is voting for the lesser of two evils. His approach to Diane Abbot is a total disgrace, once she had the whip restored in a truly democratic party she would obviously be free to stand, yet his egomania made it an issue that never should have existed.

Starmer has given her the whip back, she is back in the party and tbh as an aside does not look a well Woman.
Egomaniac ? I question that because as you should know a leader should look strong, if not they are perceived as weak by their opponents and the media. Already it's being said by the media and the Tories that Angela Rayner is telling him what to do, which is not a good look to the electorate. What is most annoying is posters are turning against Labour because of what Starmer is perceived to be doing. As with Abbot it turns out they were wrong, but then they try to find something else wrong he's perceived to have done. All this is a Conservatives dream it lets them in by the back door.

She had the whip back, that should automatically meant she'd stand.Just watching ITV news report it as a "days long row". Starmer is attempting to purge any real socialists from the party,as I said...the lesser of two evils.
