Christ, even Clare Short's ashamed of the behaviour of the Labour party and its behaviour. Installing zombies/dangerous future.
Starmer, and more importantly the people that are pulling Starmer’s strings, have seen the polls and thought - we don’t need the left wing votes, we don’t need Muslim votes, we don’t need the Black votes. We’re going to walk this without them.

That maybe be so at the moment, but come the political carnage the next five years will bring, they’re sure as hell going to need them in five years time. Then they’ll shout “ Charge “, look behind them - and there’ll be nobody there.

I read that a dozen officers of Manchester police were put on to the investigation of Angela Rayner recently.
She's been cleared of any wrongdoing by the way.
Who authorised such a waste of resources? The Daily Mail?

TBH there’s no one behind them now, and the call for support will come much sooner than the election after this.

Correct. They’re disengaging with a lot of their core voters in favour of voters who may chop and change.

May work once but could lead to annihilation further down the line.

They seem to be a general waste of space.

For now, yes. I think once there's a centre-Left Labour government in place with a solid majority, and the Tories are busying themselves trying mine the Reform votes under Braverman, the Lib Dems might look to be the "Sensible Right" option to hoover up disaffected natural Tories who can't bring themselves to vote for "Socialist" Starmer. Getting enough seats to return to 3rd over the SNP will give them a little more legitimacy for it too, so a lot depends on just how the election ends up going North of the Wall.

But at the moment they're putting their resources squarely into the seats where they're already 2nd and pretty much giving Labour a clear run in the national conversation.

@davek Clare Short's gonna vote Green +1 in Lambeth
Good for her.

They've sickened even soft left figures from the past like Short.

A Red Labour government is going to accelerate the exodus from that party and the inevitable outcome will be a new party on the left-soft left.
