I think the fact a right winger has crossed the floor is a great asset to Labour and that’s what majority people will see. Not many will be aware of her record. Some in here will be along with those interested in politics. But the country is in a mess and that’s what the people are worried about. Not some right winger who won’t be around for long. It was a very bad day for the Tories and that’s a plus for this country and the people. Be annoyed if she ends up in house of Lords because of this.

At least we know now, if Greenwood signed for Everton you would come out to bat in his defence for him.

Thankfully the person she was canvassing for was close by and a witness to it all.

Horrible story.

Honestly it really is , this kind of stuff could lead to horrendous consequences. How do you live and work in a multicultural area with stuff like that going around with you identified as responsible?

It’s just awful

Had an interesting conversation with one of my friends last night about Labour’s shenanigans.

He's of the opinion the party strategists have decided the socialist 'left' and Muslim vote are irrelevant (or near irrelevant) and they're chasing other seats. He's firmly of the view they're literally looking to move away from that voter bloc.

High risk strategy Imho. They'd risk losing seats in urban areas for sure. Can they afford to do that?

If true, that's gotta sting for long time party activists etc. Probably time for that new party.

You do wonder that when the internet gets totally flooded with deepfake news that people will turn away from it all leaving it to just conspiracy crazies.

I trust only a few sites and definitely nothing on social media.

The Tory MP's defecting over to Labour is a massive deal. Apparently only 3 or so in the last 30 years.

However, I do think it should not be allowed. On the basis of us having the right to vote, if you vote a person from a party in as your MP and they defect then it is basically wiping their behind on your ballot paper. An MP should not be allowed to defect, they should either stand down or hold a by-election instead.

Its exactly the same as the Prime Minister. If they step down, die or are thrown out, then there should be a General Election, they should not be allowed to put someone in to power that was not voted in..

Also, Tories defecting and also now I believe 64 Tory MP's have said they will not stand in the next election is just the rats escaping a sinking ship. The sooner the election is held, the sooner Starmer can make a complete mess of it all too..

I can't vote for these in good conscience. Sorry.
Fair play and mirrored by many others.

But if that leads to 5 more years of Tory scum rule, then you as a voter cannot complain as you had an opportunity to change that.

Extreme times call for extreme measures. Robin Cook did the right thing and told blair to shove his position. It wasn't crossing the chamber I acknowledge but it was enough.
The racists in the tory party that never wanted sunak no matter what are utilizing their positions to cut his throat now, they'll have books to pedal and favours to cash in when that party goes to the wall. sunak and a select very wealthy few will opt out and sun it up elsewhere. And just like that, all forgotten and "wasn't boris a saint" etc.

There are few things thicker than the great british public.

New Tories but in Red.

Could be a new slogan for them to run with.

Anyone can absolutely complain. He’s not voting Tory.
You can’t be complicit in government failure just because you can’t in good conscience back the most likely party to succeed them.
What’s the point in having other parties at all?
