I wouldn´t care half as much for Corbyn if it were not for the way those with power and money go after him. They certainly don´t do so for my benefit. The fact they oppose him so vehemently tells you all you need to know.

There's probably a lot about that with myself. It's when he's described as a Trot or leftie firebrand etc, he's far from it, policy wise anyway, perhaps that could be pragmatism but that would make me like him.
He's basically a diet Harry Perkins but I've never seen such an all out character assassination as that on him and the sheep like regurgitation and scapegoating worries me more as right wing behaviour than those of the addled UKIPers and Tommy Lennon's.

I´ve just read JK Rowling´s Twitter thread on Corbyn. An actual meltdown of Rafael proportions.

If this was Corbyn´s government right now with all of the problems the country is facing I think the likes of her would be advocating revolution through bloodshed. The myopic take on politics from individuals who would describe themselves as centre left (absolutely no chance) is just staggering. May and the Tories are literally driving this country off the cliff and all they can think about is their obsession with the Labour leader.

Brexit: a referendum called by the Tories, a deal negotiated by the Tories yet the diatribes are all aimed at Corbyn. Adonis, Rowling, Campbell et al all think Labour can wave a magic wand and make this go away. I doubt over the last two years they have even bothered to engage on why people voted leave in the first place. They are so detached from the reality of this country, hence why they fail to grasp why so many teachers, nurses and young people gravitate towards the current Labour Party.

If it were as simple as saying we oppose Brexit and want to hold a second referendum then why are the Liberal Democrats polling at 6%?

He missed a trick there should have been at a food banks, a hostel for the homeless etc preaching what he's saying in the clip it's a bit of a damp squib, but totally correct in what he is promoting needed to be more punchy realism etc .....

Unfortunately the Tories beat him to the foodbank photo ops.

Actually, he was at a homeless centre today, away from the cameras and press.
He's not the sort to turn up at a foodbank with a bag of sugar and a cameraman.

He really does walk the walk.

And besides, if he did invite the press, his detractors would say he's only doing it for the publicity.

Excellent post. It's the lemmings that think Rowling etc speak from a sort of 'informed' position, they know the same as everyone else, sod all. ;)

Missed chance of publicity then........

I have to look at that as somebody doing something for the right reasons then . The sight of Tory mp’s getting photo shoots at food banks , food banks they’ve created and made necessary through their political agenda , turns my stomach .

For me corbyn derseves credit for doing something very decent for apparently very decent reasons .

The one having Rafael meltdowns are those that are still banging the Corbyn drum. It’s actually amazing the amount of people I know that were fully on the band wagon last year that have actually said similar to that Rowling thread (albeit without the anti semitism) that really, he isn’t the man for the job. Even Twitter is nowhere near the hotbed of support for him it once was.

To say that only Corbyn gets diatribes is absolute cherry picking. The entire political system is rightly getting a kicking by the media at present because they are beyond useless. Corbyn is getting pelted because he’s showing exactly how poor of a politician he is. He’s helping enable Brexit and seemingly has no idea on how to use pressure to change the governments course.

When people like me support Corbyn, it's very little to do with the man himself and everything to do with anti austerity. As a teacher myself, I saw the damage this government has done on a daily basis before I moved abroad. The last thing I want to see is the David Milaband's and Chris Leslie's seize control of the Labour Party again so they can turn it into their Tory lite sideshow.

When it comes down to it, the people voted to leave, they are the ones who enabled Brexit. Who wants to be the politician that subverts democracy by crusading to overturn the vote? I was never Lexit but it would be difficult for me personally to espouse all of the virtues of the E.U given what they have done to countries like Greece. You only have to wander around the streets of Athens to grasp the sentiment towards the organisation there.

If there was another vote, I would vote to remain but I think this has to be the last option. Another referendum would be poison for the country. Even then, there is no guarantee remain would win. That's the problem with democracy, you don't always get the result you want.
