It's confused. I think it starts off as an attempt to discredit him and labours weakness as well as pointing out the friction within 'the left' but almost feels like the heart isn't in it.

Same way a Tory wouldn’t necessarily vote Conservative if they feel the party aren’t being Tory.

Well that's exactly right. Labour's electoral gamble going into 2024 is that the support they lose from the 'Corbyn' left will be more than compensated by incoming votes from the middle ground, and that trying to chase the Left is only going to give the Tories ammunition in the fight for the centre. Meanwhile the Tories are chasing their Right with madcap immigration schemes & other culture war nonsense and looking like berks to the masses who just want competence and stability from a Government and don't particularly have a political streak of either wing.
Are Labour right to take that path? I don't know but the current polling looks like it bears the decision out.
Exactly this. Corbyn gained extra votes (in sheer numbers) in already very safe seats in 2017 but didn't really make inroads in other seats needed to get a majority. The frustrations of first past the post
There's some bloody precarious labour seats (Inc mine) after 2019.
It's an uneasy position electorally. Be interesting to see if the Greens or lib dems make significant gains though. Might mean a majority slips Labour's grasp if a few Corbyn friendly seats defect.

So obviously I love and respect your footballing knowledge but on this one I'm stuck - I've been a Labour member since I was 16. We have to get rid of these tories. Starmer doesn't inspire me of course he doesn't but we can't have 5 more years of Sunak et al.

Calling for a mean spirited tory government is disgraceful even from a tool of Codbyns PR team, as she is/was.
