If Labour want to be in power for the long term they will have to implement left wing policies.

The landscape changes once you are in power and the Labour Party will have to change over time if it wants to be in power long term.

I worry this current Labour Party has one term only to lose at the next election to a tory party that has veered even more towards the right.

They’re getting in because the electorate has had enough of the tories in power. In five years time they won’t have that to go back on.
It would seem that if Labour want to be in power for the long term they will have to implement policies that match the public mood, whilst fighting a disproportionatly right wing press. I feel that Starmers team understand this. If he is to be successful, it won't be a fairytale and happen over night, it'll be akin to turning a tanker, and through the process bringing the public with him. Seems obvious enough though I understand the emotions in play.

lol lol lol

Took £184,000 from investment company MPM Connect to lobby for them; abstained when the Tories brought their Welfare Reform Bill into parliament, failed to vote for a ceasefire in Gaza.

Yeah, a really "good one" she is.

No wonder the Manchurian Candidate keeps her close.

Didn't her and Ed flip their house a few times on expenses as well.

Agree with the long term, it does need to change and move back towards the principals it was founded on. Or we need a new Labour party forming. We need Labour to get in then we can put pressure on them to back Electoral reform, shift the policies back left and do some good.

I cant see the younger generation ever voting Tory tbf, but I also think the way its going, they will move away from Labour too so both parties will struggle in future.

Worry is young people becoming disillusioned with Politics, easy to deter them from voting while pensioners will always get out to vote in the main.

Was disappointed that some people demonise the likes of Momentum, any movement that brings young people together in politics should be praised.

As soon as the younger generation inherit their parents wealth they will vote Tory, as night follows day

lollollol

When has this happened?

Apart from the Mail and the Express, Starmer's been given the easiest ride of any 'Labour' leader I've ever seen...maybe that's because he really isn't a Labour leader and is the establishment's Manhcurian Candidate inside the Former Labour Party.
