Current Affairs The Labour Party

Get over yourself. Speaking for just myself, I worked frontline services in benefits, homelessness debt etc for several years before moving abroad a few years ago. Can tell you that colleagues I still speak to working in that sector are just as disillusioned and disappointed with what they are currently seeing.

Literally a civil servant who skinted himself for half a year going on unpaid strike.

Also worked in the DWP, been a claimant, and have a disabled sister who needs me to to communicate with them anytime she has a problem.

So, yeah, talking out your arse as usual.

After nearly 14 years of Tory Government.

People to the Left of the current Labour Party are verging on hard / far left - types just as dangerous and out of touch as those on the hard / far right.

And just like those on the hard / far right, the British people collectively have little time for them.

You stated that the Starmer critics on here knew nothing of the ‘coal face of work and public services’ which was both insulting and arrogant. Myself and @Charro are just 2 posters that shot you down for this although I know there are more.
This doesn’t look like an apology. You’re just insinuating we are far-left now. Lol

Of course this is all very deliberately designed. It suits certain people for the masses to be polarised, looking and pointing fingers at one another, rather than these people.

It’s mad how you’ve read my post and decided this was how to respond.

Go away you blinkered idiot.

Just out of interest who do you believe Is a viable alternative to Starmer?

Labour IMO will win the next GE if people hold their nerve and remember it’s the party not the leader that they’re voting for,

The Tories have to be removed from power and a vote for the labour is the only real option that I can see. Voting for the greens or LD’s will only see another term for the tories.

For leader of the party? Clive Lewis.

I’m not voting Lib Dem’s or greens. I’m voting independent for a number of reasons.

I think labour will get in power no matter who I vote for.

I want Labour to be in power because of the alternative but I can’t vote for them with good conscience.

I fully appreciate people voting for Labour just to get the tories out. I have no problem with this.

I’m just going another way. A lot of this thread will look irrelevant when Labour stroll to victory and people like myself still voted elsewhere which is what I think will happen.

Not sure why either of you responded and no apology given, Spadge who i was engaging with as far im aware was in broad agreement. Though reckon i was correct in my assessment some if not all are retired and no longer at the coal face. Idealism and realism are different.

Myself many years off retirement and at the coal face, where helping a few more people by getting Starmer in is better than helping no-one more and most likely less by voting Green and getting Sunak which is it what i believe you and others are peddling because you have "principles" be it in retirement.

Anyway, if had a pound for every time i asked for a apology because I got offended on social media by generalized post I could also take retirement "early".

The election next year is not the worry for me, It should/will be a Labour win but not at the level the polling is suggesting.

Come the new year the right wing press and the Tories will go all out attack and target Starmer in a way he hasn't been before.

People have short memories and the media will stoop to really low levels and push for the Tories with outright lies and propaganda.

My worry is 5 years time and what way the Tory party will evolve under the likes of someone like Suella and move further to right.

Looks like with the planned cuts in civil service and what they tried to do with the concrete issue and brush it under the carpet for when Labour got into power to sort. What else are they doing behind the scenes is anyone's guess but they will never have the people of this countries best interests at heart.

The worse for the Tories more likely it will go further right. If they can hang on to be competent opposition in numbers one nations will batten down hatches and holt the entryism from UKIP etc,
