Hamas my arse. Fatah rule in the West Bank and the Palestinians are getting slaughtered there too.

Hadn't thought about that mate. Until you'd said that, I'd presumed it would all just be settled quickly and amicably.

Oh well, I guess we should just get behind the bloodshed then. Thanks again for your big boy pragmatism.

TBF Hamas are not the ones breaking agreements lately. I’ve mentioned it before but earlier this year Bibi signed a deal with the US, Jordan and the PA to freeze new settlements… and broke it as soon as he got home.

All manner of Arab and Middle Eastern regimes tried to improve relations over the past few years, and as this crisis has showed the current Israeli government doesn’t give a fig about their genuine concerns about how this affects them, not is there any respect for their genuine concerns about escalation.

That shouldn’t be a surprise because they’ve shown no concern about civilian casualties, the fate of the hostages, the concerns of their European allies or even the long term security of Israel either - they are only concerned with their own grip on power.
Don't subscribe to antiquated view that UK opinion on these matters actually carry any weight with those involved.

If by some miracle UK could change things, I expect much the same. Would wants us in there protecting all.

So talk is cheap even cheaper on a football forum no matter how profound some of us think we are...

This massive hypocrite talking about Islamophobia when he's supporting the genocide of the Palestinians in Gaza.

Incredible.

I reckon @davek is on the payroll of the Tory PR team. His natural leaning toward autocracy and dictatorships has clearly been called in by the swing to the right of this current Tory rabble.
Think it's notable that our right wing media is fixated on Starmer currently and happily ignoring what's coming out of COVID inquiry. Wether people are willing participants or happless keyboard protesters is an open debate i suppose.

Just by saying "he doesn't" isn't an argument against my claim he funds right wing 'Labour' MPs.

Ruth Smeeth, Liz Kendall, Dan Jarvis, Ian Austin, Rachel Reeves, Liam Byrne, Wes Stressing, Keir Starmer...all right wingers and ALL funded by Trevor Chinn.

Chinn is a lobbyist for the Israeli state.

...are you connecting the dots yet?
You are doing it again.

Prove that all those names are right wing Labour MPs and in Chinns pocket.

TBF the COVID enquiry is a good parallel to bear in mind with this, because HMG's stance here is exactly the same kind of blithe posturing whilst completely ignorant of the facts.

Hamas wants the complete destruction of Israel state again assign it to history. It's not blithe posturing, calling for a ceasefire is ridiculous posturings as it stands.
Most likely outcome as Starmer stated is safe corridors for aid and getting people out.

It’s absolutely blithe posturing.

Israeli government policy created, sustained and emboldened Hamas for decades. “Mowing the grass” repeatedly, blowing up families repeatedly, shooting unarmed Gazans repeatedly just resulted in Hamas being able to do what they did on October 7th.

Anyone who thinks what the Israelis are doing now is going to eradicate Hamas is either less than four years old, or is an idiot, or has been personally compromised.

Not sure how Hamas being in position it is in now and how that came about, history is full of these examples.

And not even sure why you are trying to straw man into some kind of apologist for what Israel is doing right now.

Still maintain calling for a ceasefire is total waste of time until USA states it, but if it makes you and others feel better in the mean time, who am I to disagree.
