That will go through the roof come autumn.
Loads of strikes , bills start popping through the post, mortgage rises, job losses.
Unless they have an early election ,Truss and co are as good as dead in the water.
Throw in a couple of scandals along the way.
Labour will never have a better chance to win an election, hope they don't cock it up, fighting each other.

Agreed.

I’m not a fan of Starmer as I don’t believe he truly aligns with Labour’s core values, but I believe he will make the country a fairer place for all.

I have to believe it. We simply cannot carry on down this path.

Shame that the election wasn’t sooner, you’d soon see the Tories taking proper action on the energy crisis then

I don’t think so. There is an abundance of shy Tory voters. Starmer has to offer something and more importantly, at least come across as an actual human being.

There is certainly an argument to be made that by not scaring the horses they might avoid what happened to Corbs, but I don't agree with it - the pro-Tory papers are too compromised now, they aren't going to turn around with the country in the state it might be in around January / February and say "you know what, we were wrong to back this lot that have done this".

They'll probably go even further down the traitors / culture war drain; I wouldn't be that surprised if they started talking about 2024 not being the right time for an election, the country needs stable government etc etc

Aye he needs to offer something up otherwise the ‘they’re all the same (so you may as well vote Tory) crowd’ will win.
We are already witnessing an escalation of the culture wars nonsense which is the last throw of the dice for a failed regime.

Only the Tories could have a month long leadership battle while the whole County is in chaos, strikes galore, cost of living, fuel, petrol food, food banks. Has there ever been a worse government in our lifetime?
They could have implemented emergency measures for a quick vote and resolution so they can start at least looking like they’re doing stuff. Johnson wiping his hands and picking up his salary for doing [Poor language removed] all. They’re a plague on this country.

Disgusting interrupting his dedicated piss up, just to go on holiday and having to put up with clean beaches as well, what a leader !

After fighting to stay there after he said he'd resign.

That said, his government has always been about inaction.

truss gets in, gets her name in as PM, enjoys the accolades, a few meet and greets at number 10, acts the 'big cheese' (chortle!), gets soundly found out in record time, 12 months, new leader required, in rides saint boris to save the tory day. you watch.
He'll still be on holiday.
