Very disappointed in David Lammy.
What do the Labour Party even stand for these days? At least under Corbyn they had identity.
Now that this lot have gone on strike I expect Starmer will be joining the picket line to show solidarity over their low pay…

De Piffle would build a £300,000 fence, paid for by some shady donor who would be ennobled within the year.Starmer is a gutless fence sitter….

As this article from LSE explains, the "levelling up" agenda has very much stalled, but it has done so in these key areas:Starmer needs to read the mood better, the current trend among its natural supporters is for action.
He doesn't have to actually say he backs the strikes,
but could go in heavy on the reasons for them.
Pay stagnation, less job security, ect.massive rises in the working poor., the rich getting richer when we are told to constantly told your tighten are belts
12 yrs of austerity, for what?
Record borrowing
inflation
real wages down
poverty up
The gap between the top and bottom widening, so much for leveling up.
the list goes on
I would sooner have a northern leader myself going forward,
but we are stuck with him for now.

he should make it plain his values and get them out there or move aside for somebody who can.
Just not being Johnson is not going to be enough in the long run.
well the rail strike has never been a cure all for everything wrong with the problems of modern living, don't think anybody ever said it was, child poverty and in work poverty within the rail industry , cleaners on less than 17k for weekend and night work would definitely benefit from the strike. from there perspective.As this article from LSE explains, the "levelling up" agenda has very much stalled, but it has done so in these key areas:
None of those things are being addressed by rail worker strikes, so again, who really is it that Labour represent?
- Child poverty;
- In-work poverty;
- Life expectancy inequalities;
- Unmet need for care;
- Educational inequalities;
- Inequalities in early childhood;
- Homicide inequalities;
