Received a recent email from our HR department.

This cautioned us to be mindful of 'unconscious microaggressions' when interacting with our colleagues.

What doe's this ACTUALLY mean?

Worked for over 25 years with every ethnicity, faith, gender, sexuality. social class, and disability.

(Even a few RS customers)

Treated everyone with respect and dignity, but this is obviously not enough for the thought police.

Surely the whole point of something being unconscious is that you do it without realising it?

My failure to understand this nebulous concept of ' unconscious microaggressions' would probably be viewed as proof positive that I am part of the 'problem'.

It's a bit like Kafka's 'The Trial', not sure of the accusation, and therefore unable to defend oneself.

Regardless of social class, ethnicity, or sexual orientation, the Left can't grasp the fact that the vast majority of people in this country are patriotic, rooted to established communities and cultures, and conservative, with a small c.

The majority of the UK are pro brexit, anti unrestricted Immigration, tough on crime

Are they?

More people generally, and even in 2019, vote(d) for parties to the left of the Tories than for the Tories and those to the right of them, but we end up with Tories because of FPTP.

I don't think a majority of the country has ever been pro-Brexit, but we all got dragged along with it because of that stupidly irresponsible referendum, and the stupidly irresponsible prime minister saying the results of an advisory referendum would be carried out whatever.

This is perhaps the saddest thing, as numerous studies have shown that people wildly over-estimate the amount of crime, the numbers of foreigners, and so on, yet the Tories and their ilk fan the flames of fear that help to fuel such misunderstandings. You're just admitting that you fall for it rather than follow the actual evidence. Maybe step back and think about that. You're not a daft man, yet you're being led by the nose by lies.

I've not fallen for anything mate we all know the media overstate these things which is why Labour are naive/stupid to keep fighting the Tories on these issues as they can't win against the populist opinion!

Even if its better to be in the EU than not you aint going to win an election saying that! Labour have to be streetwise and pick their battles and look at where the Tories are at their weakest - the economy.

The average white van man can't relate to being nicked at a Sarah Everard Vigil or being victim of police brutality in the USA but he is affected by rising energy bills, by daft houses prices, zero hour contracts and Universal Credit so pick your battles!
