But the problem is they undo any good work by cheap political scoring such as Sir Keir (who I like) taking the knee, Dianne Abbott banging on about "white privilege" Gordon Brown calling elderly people bigots.

They constantly shoot themselves in the foot with their own ideology / trying to promote themselves to the 10% instead of the 90% and unfortunately in politics its ultimately a popularity contest which the likes of Farage and the Tories know all too well.

The modern Left/Labour are more arsed about taking the knee and making sure every Morrisons has a gender neutral toilet than actually tackling issues such as Universal Credit, Zero Hour Contracts, poverty, high utility prices, scandalous child care fees for working people etc.

The issue is it doesn't need to be about socialism or whatever its more about having a party that targets the key issues that wins them votes and thus an election.

The worst thing about all this is, people will still vote Tory despite losing £20 a week UC cos Labour is supposedly full of ‘metropolitan wokes’
Going to take something radical to win the next election.

Policies people can live with is a start.

But forget all this Labour Party working class stuff. That was only relevant when There were workers, many many workers who made stuff and were treated poorly, really poorly, 6 day week 10 12 hour poorly, dark satanic mills, workhouse poorly.
That battle was all but won, then Thatcher finished it, called time on it.

They turned to the party of the poor unemployed, the immigrants, anybkdy who wasn't remotely toryish
But you cant fool all of the people ALL of the time.
Hence 80+ Tory seat majority.

My advice, is forget the Labour party - it forgot you and me years ago.

The more the REDWALL voters desert them, the further they descend into internal debates and electoral disasters.

Labour aren’t patriotic, whereas the party that has spent the past eleven years screwing over the military specifically and the British state generally is patriotic. Labour don’t care about communities and cultures but the government that destroyed working class communities across the country do.

I haven't though!! The proof is in the pudding man the hapless Tories keep winning elections.

Its like Everton losing derby after derby and blaming referess and the weather. At some point you just have to acknowledge that Liverpool turn up for derby games with often better players.

The majority of the UK are pro brexit, anti unrestricted Immigration, tough on crime stance which the Tories will always win in those areas if you try battle them on those grounds.

If you avoid all that and focus largely on the economy, making peoples lives easier and giving them more money in their pocket they are more likely to vote for you within reason.

But soon as you enter debates on BLM, white privilege, pro EU you are largely onto a loser because the Tories have that area on lockdown.

This is perhaps the saddest thing, as numerous studies have shown that people wildly over-estimate the amount of crime, the numbers of foreigners, and so on, yet the Tories and their ilk fan the flames of fear that help to fuel such misunderstandings. You're just admitting that you fall for it rather than follow the actual evidence. Maybe step back and think about that. You're not a daft man, yet you're being led by the nose by lies.
