Been a trade union member since I was 16. I’m 64 now and embarrassed by what the labour party and movement has become. It has no future unless it can relate to normal people’s lives.

My union has been taken over by Len McCluskey’s gang. I wince every time I see him giving it the big revolutionary, I am, on telly. He should stfu.

He doesn’t speak for me and I will cancel my membership because of him.

Starmer is not the answer. That should be clear to everyone, he can’t connect.

Losing the next election would be tragic given how utterly useless this conservative government is. That’s what’s going to happen though unless there is meaningful change.

I thought Sharon Graham was the recently elected leader of Unite so McCluskey is retired , not so?

A Political Party? I used to have one of those, Harold Wilson used to run it...haven't seen much of it for years, wonder what happened to it?

Long gone.

Labour is now the party of metropolitan elites, the chattering classes, and identity politics zealots.

They view working class people, especially Northerners, as you would an embarrassing relative you only deign to see at Christmas.

My old MP for Walton (Eric Heffer) is probably turning in his grave, re the current lot.

Labour, utterly divided, and lead by a bland chancer, are doomed to perpetual decline.

Buffoon Boris and Tories, currently rule, unopposed.

Labour opened the door for the metropolitan woke and have never recovered as you say.

Come back Tony all is forgiven.
