Im sticking to guns on this one mate, i know where your coming from though, problem being of course we have conceaded to many goals as a team this season and part but not all of it has been not being solid as a team from front to back - so from that point of view i dont think its to defensive. Equally i think between Arteta, Fellaini and Heitinga their qualites as footballers in a creative sense wouldnt see us lacking in or creating chances IMO, all three potentially hold the key to creating chances especially if thier flanked by Pienaar and A) another winger - who ever that may be. I also think your doing Arteta and Fellaini a diservice - i think both are to good as well rounded midfeilders in ethier half to be ring fenced - its all about opinion though. The three together due to their adaptability like you say, offers us so much in terms of varience of formation, with either two advanced or two playing deeper depending on how the game is panning out - to be ignored. I think Johnny offers the balance, hands the other two the licence and makes us more solid for the option to be dismissed out of hand, he was so vital on Weds.

The only down side if those three where to start would be Rodwell and game time - he really has developed this season and is looked phenomanal since he has had a bit of rest and a chance to reflect on his game - still about 65% of the palyer he is going to be though.

I suppose we'll have to wait and see, I'm not keen on it but I certainly won't write it off. You never know until we see them on the pitch together.

As for our defensive record, I think our problems mainly come down to lack of continuity in terms of partnerships. We haven't had a settled back four all season and we've tried to introduce new players in, which isn't always easy. The midfield has been chopped and changed aswell. Fellaini and Arteta haven't even played together, neither have Heitinga or Jagielka.

5 euro mate!

*Prepares rival bid!

The person putting the shirt up for sale (John van Bommel, father of Mark), gave me the chance yesterday to buy it outright, if I put in a decent offer. Although that was a great offer, I declined as all the money made from that auction goes towards my hometown club Fortuna Sittard.

He doesn't have the shirt yet though, as Heitinga gave it to the assistent manager of Dutch National coach Bert van Marwijk. So he couldn't tell me if it was signed by Heitinga only, or by the entire squad. Said he'd call me as soon as he received the shirt.

Lots of shirts are going to be auctioned: PSV, Dutch National team, Ajax, Feyenoord, Bayern Munich, Sunderland (Zenden) and everything else he can get his hands on.

Sounds good mate, you could get it id say at a good price id say, i imagine other the shirts in Dutch land would come at more of a premium.

Check you mixing it with the football elite!

 Ah not really. Both Mark van Bommel and his father are fullblooded Fortuna Sittard supporters. As we're only a small club, it's relatively easy to build up a relationship with your players. As Mark being a very down to earth guy (just like his old man), he came to our supportershome on a regular basis when he played for us and even when he was at PSV, he didn't forget about his old fans. He and his father are doing everything they can to help out Fortuna every way they can.

Tbh, the interaction between players and fans is altogether a lot more closer than in England I guess. I mean, when I come over to watch Everton, I notice the players don't come over to the fans to clap them after the final whistle. You can't get away with that in Holland. It's standard procedure (win or loss) to thank the fans for their support. No doubt you've noticed Johnny Heitinga doing this after the match?

I ahve actually mate, its well sound. I love Dutch fans the best matches i ever been at have been Dutch Vs Ireland games - trully brilliant fans and so much fun.

I have this picture of you and Mark Van Bommell have a cup of Tea and a chat talking about Fortuna tactics!

I don't think that it's because of resting or having chance to reflect on his game - he's just following Fellaini way from last season, not being able to produce properly playing in position where coach wants him to end playing, and playing well in more advancing position, using similar strengths that he was always showing, but it allows him to hide his weaknesses.

I also want to see Heitinga as CB at the end, it's really good to have to have one ball playing CB.
