Heitinga is mainly a centre-half and at a PUSH he could play right-back he is a ok player but not someone we should be breaking our wage structure for especially since we have already signed the classy Distin who is a much better defender than Heitinga

Reading Pienaar's comments in the Echo he was fulsome in his praise. I got the feeling he saw a CM berth for him...and some of the talk I've heard today about him not being exactly blessed with lightening pace underlines that. Neville at RB with Bilyetdinov(sp?) RM looks a good possibility IF this deal goes through.

Spoke to a mate in Espana , and apparently , he was player of the year at prev' club prior to arrival , AND was player of the year at Athletico - some going - in his second , I assume , last year . However , he stank like a dog in his first year there . A dog that died at Xmas and has been locked in an airing cupboard since .

Don't expect , hit-the-ground-running , but the lad is quality . A la Jags , it sounds like .

No , ours is open we can still deal with all parties . THEY can't deal domestically , or in fact with rest of Europe now .

That is what I've heard from people and mates who think he's quality and are surprised athletico are wanting rid for that small a price bei g he won their player of the year.

My rs mates think he'd be a proper steal. We're gonna be playing a lot of games, him and distin would give us 4 quality centre halves
