The Guardian pretty much nails it in one...

One of the best articles I have read: http://soccerwithoutlimits.com/evertons-issues-run-deeper-than-a-lack-of-funds/25644/?

Exactly how I look at the situation.

I find your opinion bizarre in that case.

If it were the case that there were other managers getting their teams more points than Moyes does Everton, and scoring more goals and playing better football then I'd respect your opinion.

But the fact is that there aren't. Not until teams have around £50m-£150m more to spend on wages and fees per season.

To ignore the fact that we get more points, score more goals and let in less than EVERY OTHER TEAM WITH A SIMILAR BUDGET, EVERY SEASON seems wilfully ignorant.

the way i look at it is we are overachieving every season, this game is almost all about money and we aint got none, thank **** for Davy Moyes

I have no idea why fans feel like something someone writes on a sports website is more valid than something written on a forum.

There's too articles here which are pretty much identical to loads of posts on here but we're meant to treats them as somehow more insightful or meaningful?

Why? Those guys watch and think about everton a hell of a lot less then we do.

How are we "over-achieving">

Of all the teams below us, Liverpool are the only ones we don't normally finish above.....even in our bad eras.

In fact, with the exception of Liverpool and Villla, every team below us has been in a lower division in the past ten or twelve years.....and of the teams above us, Manchester City come into that category and Chelsea were relegated in the late 80s when we were still winning Championships.

Under Moyes Everton have been no better than they ought to be.

This "over-acheiving" and "punching above our weight" nonsense is a total fallacy.

Do you honestly not believe that finances make a difference in football?

Of course not.

Manchester City played 3rd tier football 10 or so Years ago and have won only 3 League Titles.

We really should finish above them.

The 550m Net spend and the 200m a week wage bill doesnt help ANYTHING.

I'm trying to work out why he thinks Ibrahimovic, Toure, Silva, Rooney, Ronaldo, Mata etc play for other teams and not for us.

Does he think Moyes just doesn't want them?

It certainly makes a difference berween us and United, Chelsea and City......but we aren't finishing above them.

Or getting close to them.

But the vast majority of those teams behind us?

Yo-yo teams whom a stable Premiership team like Everton should be expected to out-perform.

Then again, Borussia Dortmund have made the CL final with ateam which was assembled for more or less the same amount of money as we paid for Billy, Jelavic and The Yak.

And they almost went banktupt a few years ago.

So happen money doesn't always have to shout so loud.
