The reason Alan Ball was so much better than other players? He did the simple things, like control and pass and think much better than any other player at the time. He wasn't complicated, just very very good at football.

His motion..as said "perpetual"..as was his football brain..his attitude, cocky and chippy at times which made him what he was.. the poise and elegance of a proper footballer as in this picture. Altogether..one limousine of a player.
