The Grand National

Your totally wrong, a racing horse is bred with the sole reason of racing. If it didnt race it wouldnt be bred. They are treated like royalty given the best treatment and feed. They absolutely love racing, they wouldnt do it otherwise. You should try moving a horse when it doesnt want to move, you wont get v far

Horses are pack animals, so they do what the pack does. Thats why fallers often get up and carry on running after the field.
Breaking horses is not a very pleasant thing. So your argument that they are treated like royalty is wrong. In many cases they are forced to do what they do.
Moving horses often makes their horses run better for a short time. A change in surrounding and daily routine can work wonders for some horses.

It used to be that you had a build up all week to the national, and the horses that run were known well in advance. I have hardly seen a thing mentioned about it so far, nor have the final runners and riders been announced?

Anyone have any tips for the Big race? I heard Black Apalachi is running but i would back that if the weather was atrocious. I tipped it to win on the National course last November in awful conditions and it strolled to victory. This horse has proven it can get around and has plenty of stamina so it is one to look out for.

Butlers cabin NAP, I'd get on it now before he shortens, as soon as mccoy announces he is riding him he will shoot down to favouritism.

Nadover, 100/1 a very good outside bet, finished 7th last year (y)

Irish Invader should go well too.

A french horse will never win the national. Not brave enough or have enough stamina.
I have bet on War of Attrition, got it 2 weeks ago at 33/1 but its halved since then

My only national win was on a french horse - Lescargo.
When it comes to horse racing, I can't pick me nose.

I have a great record on the National.

4 winners in the last 5.

Normally pick two horses. One year I put three on, finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Only had to win though.

I'm not gonna follow and put My Will on, i'm actually gonna do Comply and Die and then an e/w on Can't Buy Time.

Can't wait to go now.

Heavy rain forecasted for Saturday.

My 1st time and it will probably be cancelled.

ffs here lid.

KJ, there is no such thing as a NAP in horse racing and especially in the toughest steeplechase in the world.

Black Apalachi (NAP)! :D:P

Last time I bet on the national i won a wedge on Silver Birch, as it was the name of the boozer we all went in after work in Birchwood.

Going with L'ami and a sneaky EW on Kelami, for the sole reason that I really fancy french girls. And they're carrying little weight.

By the way, any chance we can do a Grand National Sweep?
