Why would you ban it lad??

It is definately a scouse event, it is watched by millions each year and attendances both viewing and spectator, get bigger each year. It is not just a huge race in this country, it is massive worldwide.

For the horses, Steph.

And like Chico says, it's a wool event, for people from places like Huyton, St. Helens and the Wirral ...

Like i said, i know where Aintree is! It is widely refered to has being held in Liverpool. http://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aintree_racecourse

Race horses love jumping, they are born to jump. If they did'nt, they would not continue once a rider has been thrown off. I understand what you mean though, i hate seeing horses fall and hurt themselves. If a horse breaks its leg, their lives should be saved, thats my only gripe.

I'm not saying they don't like to jump, Steph. People also like to jump, but you wouldn't send a load of energetic kids jumping around a place where they were likely to end up snapping a leg in half.

Just to note that racehorses are bred for our purposes, not their own. So you can't really claim that they were born to jump. Rather, they are bred by us to run quickly and jump over fences for our pleasure.

The racehorse exists for us, not for itself.(y)

Football pitch i suppose would be our equivalent

i knew by the title where this was going, hands off our national scousers. so people who have spent their whole lives watching Everton will stop cos of a boundary line yet will cling on to a nag race that happens but once a year, how many scouse horses have won the national btw ? and ainsdale isnt Liverpool so red rum doesnt count, he was a woolyhorse

Not unless the following two clauses were accepted:

(1) Two footed challenges on shins are legal
(2) The children are bred for football and have no say, or indeed ability to object to, whether they play (they would be bred with low IQs)

I suppose it would be the same then.

Your totally wrong, a racing horse is bred with the sole reason of racing. If it didnt race it wouldnt be bred. They are treated like royalty given the best treatment and feed. They absolutely love racing, they wouldnt do it otherwise. You should try moving a horse when it doesnt want to move, you wont get v far

I think I've found a 100/1 shot in the national which will go close.

Its called Nadover, came 7th last year, stays the distance, only 2 lengths behind the fancied L'ami in December, ran well in his last race behind 2nd fav Rambling Minster and trained for this race. Good Jockey on board in Noel Fehily. will be having a few quid each way on this
