Surely this all goes back to the New Labour project? They abandoned the working class to chase votes. It’s all been a sort of slow, painful death since then.
Will be weird if Labour win the cities and Tories everywhere else
Yet here you are. It's a much better place if you stick him on ignore.
They won't stay Tory. I really am amazed at how badly Labour are doing there though.Wales turning blue too. With them and Scotland turned it is going to be a hard slog to win elections for Labour.
And why is that?Wales turning blue too. With them and Scotland turned it is going to be a hard slog to win elections for Labour.
It’s not about “free handouts”, it is about having a party that puts the working class (the majority) first and foremost. I do not believe Labour under Blair did that. The fact he has made a fortune in the US doing corporate work suggests I might be on to something!Utterly the wrong analysis.
There's a misperception that the working class vote for Labour handouts and giveaways. The working class want the same thing as the middle classes - to be taxed less, and the opportunity to shape their own live through the efforts of their own hard work. Blair understood that. Traditional Conservatives instinctively understand that also. But to Corbyn and the socialists it is anethema.
Dayom. Alastair Campbell absolutely putting the boot in. Like him or loathe him you can't deny that he's generally got his finger on the pulse of the country.
