I am lucky enough to be able to watch this unfold on RTE.

Much better coverage.

No Kuenesberg, no Peston, no annoying bird on Channel 4, no Farage, no Johnson's arl fella, no Kate Hoey....

no, it was there heartlands that voted for it. There was an issue that needed to be addressed and tackled. You do not ignore your core voters, which they did. You accept it, sell it to the public and get an election. He would have walked it with a majority and then he can negotiate whatever he wanted

instead he got caught up with the buzz on social media and London. Thinking what is said on those platforms represents the country, and it clearly doesn’t because it’s cost the Labour Party the next 2-3 elections.

You then have that utter tit McDonnell wanting to implement pure socialism

Well unfortunately you go against almost everyone within the Labour Party. From Tony Blair to Alastair Campbell to Gordon Brown they all wanted to go balls deep into a second referendum. It was actually a reluctant Corbyn who was dragged towards that position.

It is a long road back for the party. Probably two more elections minimum. What direction it takes I´m not sure. How can we look at that result tonight and see the pragmatic centre ground as the positon to adopt? It´s been an equally catastrophic night for that brand of politics too.

England will go back to not giving a toss about anti Semitism tomorrow once the media stops talking about it. It's easily one of the most manufactured talking points ever. I'm not saying it's not a problem just more the people that are pretending to care are indeed pretending.

Another one who gets it. Sadly in the minority.

Call them misguided, call them hoodwinked - that comment in bold is a bit too far.
Andy, it is plainly tongue in cheek. What should happen is the contraceptive pill should be intoduced to the water supply. They have had some success with the rats in New York with this tactic.

exactly proves my point, he got caught up in fantasy politics. Social media and a load of activists does not represent this country.

but back to what the former politicians wanted, of course they wanted to stay. They’re politicians and they would have been in the same situation. But you cannot ignore your voters on that issue.

politics around the world is done for, to many of them have got their hands in other pies and people are absolutely fed up. This being a prime example, their concern is away from the average Joe
