There is some truth to this I think. Centuries of cultural conditioning and a numerous and powerful bourgeois class are to blame.
Norway, for example, never really had a landed gentry or strong upper class, partly due to geography and being a colony of Denmark and Sweden for centuries. Now it is one of the highest rates of income distribution in the world. We’re still stuck in the the 1900s.
Britain's imperial past mate. The British working class had some benefit from Empire, but the trade off was to identify with their own ruling class as their own masters who knew best. They (the Britiosh working class) were "better" than the workers and peasants of the colonised territories, and that served to justify their own acquiescence. Crudely put, of course.

It won’t be grim for everyone though. Your middle England brexit voter will be happy with ‘good old Boris sticking it to those unelected bureaucrats’ The Tory vote won’t collapse in the next 5 years.
In my opinion, financially, many people won’t notice significant differences. The people that will be most affected will once again be those at the very bottom who generally don’t vote (in my experience) and who most people don’t even care about.

It will be, though.

For a start, once he "gets Brexit done" they will be left with noone else to blame for what the country is like and they'll probably experience the sort of destructive catharsis that the SNP will go through if they ever get independence. Remainers will still blame them, as will those Leave people who finally realise that a Tory Brexit was only ever going to be in the interests of a small group of Tories.

Secondly, the lesson of the Tory care plan of 2017 (or the 2019 version, which despite a clear unequivocal promise doesn't apparently exist) is that the only people who can be taxed to pay for anything are exactly the middle England brexit voters; the only other people who have money or assets are the people who actually fund the Tories rather than just vote for them. If there is an impact, and all evidence says there will, the people who had something and lose some of it will feel it more than the people who had nothing at the start.

Interesting sub-stat from last night's debate:

YouGov snap leaders poll

LD voters:

71% Corbyn
29% Johnson

...feeds into the potential for the LD vote to collapse when push comes to shove and the reality of a lying racist for the next 5 years come sharply into view.

TBF we don't want it to collapse, just in Labour held and Labour target seats. The LD vote should be piled on in every Tory-LD marginal.

Genuinely curious to see the Tory list of achievements in 9 years. This is shameful.

It's a disgrace. Obviously not all things were avoidable. But Jesus Christ. It's shocking statistics. I'm genuinely worried that the Tory's will win again.

I'm not pro Corbyn, or anybody in particular. I'm definitely anti Tory though.

When people go on about the media, it's not just how they portray Corbyn, it's the fact that any party can be in charge for so long yet never be challenged about their record in office. That's the biggest media led farce that the sheep fall for.
