Look at the state of the Tories criticising and laughing at Corbyn's green tie. Can they honestly sink any lower.
Yes they can.

Incredible wasn't it though. Complete lack of awareness about the victims and the impact of Grenfell on the country. The leader of the opposition commemorating that and the Tory MPs sneering and laughing.

At the last election I was worried by a Labour/SNP coalition and thus I preferred May's conservatives to win. This time bring on the coalition, screw the far right party.

I have to vote Lib Dems where I am but to be honest they haven't got a chance, the Brexit vote was 61 to 38% and the last election 55% of the vote went to the Tories. Safe as houses springs to mind. Hope all your constituencies do better.

That is precisely why we need PR for Westminster elections.

It is scandalous that millions of people living in what are safe seats for one party or another never have an alternative candidate that they can get behind in the hope of having him or her elected to represent their views in the HOC.

Having seen him speak a few times, he has that unmistakable confidence that privileged people have, even when they clearly don't understand what they're talking about. That and the connections are probably the biggest benefit a private education gives you.
I’ve always thought that the main advantage of private schooling is that the peer pressure makes you have higher expectations of yourself than in your typical non private school. This drives many to higher profile jobs despite not being academically bright or gifted. Obviously contacts is a huge factor also.

Plus the weight we place on certain things learned in private schools either explicitly or through the culture - accent, confidence, knowledge of 'manners/deocrum', debating societies, and on and on

Does anyone know what happens if two candidates tie for first place in a seat under FPP rules....each having the exact same number of votes?

I can see it both ways, we could end up with a lot of MPs for UKIP and Brexit type parties and that would be a pain in the arse too.

Sinn Fein tells DUP's Nigel Dodds it thinks it has 'real opportunity' to win his seat
Michelle O’Neill has said Sinn Fein is hoping to unseat “an architect of Brexit” - DUP deputy leader Nigel Dodds - as it aims to increase its number of MPs from seven to eight. As the Press Association reports, the Sinn Fein vice president said the December 12 general election will be about maximising the return of pro-Remain candidates.

errrr...sinn fein dont take their seats in parliament lol

So what type of people do charity work, volunteer in hospices, fundraise, or pay tax and NI? Is it just wealthy people, the ones who benefit from the labours of others disproportionately?
I'm sure the 'shottfall' would be covered by even the slightest increase in taxation.

That's the nature of low tax and apparently 6th richest nation in world. NHS, same with schools they have donating pages... How much should people working full time having to receive benefits to give a basic standard of living donate to schools.?

Bit defensive there fellas. All I'm saying is that for most of those who campaign for more taxes to be raised and spent on stuff, they seem to want other people to be footing the bill. If you think that's morally alright, then fair enough.

Re run between the two of them. I dont think it's ever happened, though

Would appear it has and I was on the right lines. Not a clue why I knew, probably happened in a Jeffrey Archer book I read decades ago!

That's not what I'm saying and I would add that those wanting a fairer society the most are the ones who benefit the least. Those who can afford should contribute more, that includes politicians too.
