When has a manifesto ever been implemented in full ffs you'd need a majority of 200. I'll take Labour's inevitably-to-be watered down manifesto that actually address the issues working people face, and sets up a national investment bank in the north to deal with left behind areas any day. We are the most unequal country in the EU (in terms of the difference between Wales and London in spending/GDP). A Labour government with these goals vs 5 more years of the tories in their direction combined with a brexit recession is literally going to be the difference between life or death for people on the breadline

It is a long-term vision of a what a better society could look like. Voters don't bother without inspiration. If Labour manages even 10% of the manifesto, they'll have done more to improve Britain than any government since the war.

That's not the deal on the table though, is it? There are undoubtedly arguments about short-termism and so on from our electoral system, and I can get on board with that, but the reality is that people are going to the polls on the basis that the winning party will be the government for a maximum of five years, before people are asked again. By all means outline a longer-term vision, but surely a manifesto should be things you believe are doable in the five year term people are giving you? Otherwise what's the point of it?

Hey guys, you know how I keep banging on about this digital tax? The one that will raise £6bn a year? There’s nothing in Labours manifesto about how it would work.

Almost like McDonnell is a clueless little sh*te.

Give me an eternity of austerity to watch that charlatan viper die of a heart attack when the country rejects his nonsense once again.
Wow, you're a nice guy

For 10 years the Tories have been telling us cutting Corporation tax for big companies generates more revenue, it's gone from 28% under Labour to 19%, all for the benefit of the nation say the Tories.

But wait a minute, Boris cancelled a further 2% cut this week and he said that would put a extra 6bn in the public coffers for the NHS and public services.

So not cutting Corporation Tax means more money for the people, fancy that.

See through the Tory bullcrap and lies people, they are masters at it, be careful.

I stand by that, actually. I have always respected @Bruce Wayne or @mezzrow (and at times even @peteblue!) because while we disagree profoundly over methods and assumptions, there is no doubting the depth and sincerity of their intentions.

I don't remember you making a single constructive post or attempting to provide a solution. It is all sniping from the sidelines and resentment, perhaps masking a good deal of pain if not self-pity.

Cynicism and withdrawal are easy. Solving problems is hard.
Haha Parklife tries to play psychologist and misses hard.

It’s an Internet forum pal, I could come up with the most wonderful idea to solve everything ever with regards to austerity and it would have the grand result of doing sweet f all.

You’re back to your good old delusional, self congratulating self. How long before you request for this account to be deleted because people don’t give you the credence you think you deserve?

Modern politics in a nutshell: 0% visions of how to build a better world, 100% spiteful misanthropy, resentful nihilism, and martyrdom complex

lol

the defence rests

Labour are putting up Corporation Tax to 26% which will go a long way to funding the manifesto, and all the businesses are going to leave say the Tory party and supporting media.

Where they going to move to?, Hungary?.

Italy 27.8, France 34.4, Germany 29.8, Spain 25%

Labours proposal of 26% is pretty damn reasonable ain't it compared to the rest of the EU.

See through the Tory lies people, be careful.

Why would we have higher levels than Scandinavia when these countries are held as the Gold standard when it comes to taxation?

I reckon we could raise a considerable sum recovering dodged VAT on private planes by 0.1% "Brits" who live in tax havens, like Monaco.

Not sure anyone could be anti-Tory and excuse this sort of behaviour tbh. Much more likely to be a shy Tory themselves.

I am sick of hearing the price of everything, if Labour for all there faults want to even try to make people's lives a bit better, they are getting my vote, at least they are having a go, not just more of this non investment in the population and particularly are young people.
Just what, other than we are better than the rest, are the Tory party offering me or most of the rest of us for that matter , just more of the same?

The emerald isle is going to get very crowded mate. It'll reach bursting point.

So we're probably gonna get a majority Tory Government or at

Are you happy with the way things are mate? Do you think things are gonna get a lot better for the working class when we get another 10 years of Tory austerity?
I understand that you think Labour's ambitions are unrealistic, but what would you do?
