Should sort out a maximum wage. A sum of all bonuses, wages and shares given to an employee shouldn't be able to be over a certain multiple of your lowest wage,

That would just spook the horses - I think you'd get much the same result (and quite a bit more besides) with a properly worded "honest services" offence (whereby directors of a company are required to act in the companies interests rather than their own - the US has this but it is nowhere strong enough) plus making it easier for shareholders / investors to go after those directors and auditors if malpractice occurs.

Sort the top of firms out and you would probably find the bottom would be run better, be less confrontational and less likely to force through the sort of thing that has led to the massive gap that exists now.

....worst ever NHS results, a massive campaign bonus for Labour. They truly are scandalous but not unexpected as public services suffer under the Tories. This is a very dangerous Conservative Party who will say anything the public want to hear in pursuit of power.

Pity the 4 day per week target wasn’t thought through by Labour, it might be aspirational but the Tory’s will use it to deflect on a number of issues that are uncomfortable for them.

But the NHS results were even worse in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. In no way an excuse, but food for devolutionary thought.

Farage throwing his dummy out of the pram - what's going on there there? He seems to be complaining / accusing Johnson of bribery and corruption.
Perhaps he 's finally shot himself in the foot.

Tell you what Pete, it's only in the UK where people have such a boneheaded, backwards attitude to unions.

I was most grateful of mine last year when I was bullied out of my job. They do the collective bargaining that sees everybody, public and private sector get a cost of living raise every year, their insurance scheme kept my income at about 60% of what it was when I was fired, they supported me in the fight to get a settlement, they make sure people's working hours and conditions are safe and fair and they offer lots of little things like free creches during the summer for members who have to work when the kids are off school.

And that is fair enough. But these days we have tribunals and legal recourse and very cheap (about £20 per year) insurance to cover any legal fees. The days of the ‘I’m part of the Union’ have long gone.....I hope everything has worked out for you btw......

I don't know if this is THE reason for it but free parking and prescriptions must take a chunk out of the budget.

Although I believe these to be right.

Not so much; the biggest problem the NHS has in Wales is that the biggest of the boards (Betsi Cadwalladr) is awful, bullying its staff and enriching its management.

Putting it in "special measures" doesn't seem to have done much to change anything fundamentally either, though as with everything in Wales the fault is probably down to the South not being overly concerned with things in the North.

People in South Wales don’t give a toss about North Wales, it’s a bit like England and Scotland.....
