Naughtyyoungboy. A question if you don't mind?
How long do you think it should take to get from the stadium to BERN Bahnoff ( I'm hoping to get the 22:02 back to Basel.
Theres five of us in section C.

that's no problem mate.

i think the final whistle will be at 20:50. you're not in sector B (this sector will be held back for 30 minutes), therefore you are free to leave the stadium whenever you like (Exit B/C - Sempachstrasse - next to the away sector). the wankdorf station is only 5 minutes away. you have a train back to the main station every few minutes...

21:05 - S44 - Plattform 3
21:07 - S1 - Plattform 1
21:12 - S2 - Plattform 1
21:24 - S3 - Plattform 3
and so on

the public transport system here is very good, so you don't have to worry. you'll catch that train of yours and be back in basel (which is not as nice as bern but will do) in no time.

and again...take some time to take a picture of the wankdorf sign at the station. you will be the hero in your pub for years. :)

Another question for naughtyyoungboy ? With last check in at Zurich airport being 40 mins before departure do you think it possible to get the 07.11 from Bern arriving 08.29 at the airport leaving 21 minutes to get to the gate for a 09.30 flight I realise your not a travel agent but you knowledge is second to none or best to get an earlier one just trying to factor the hangover situation in! Thanks

well, the airport in zurich is quite big and so is the walking distance. but i thing 21 minutes will do. i always take one train earlier just to be on the safe side. you're right...one should not underestimate the hangover situation.

cheers

Nice one will try for the earlier train but depends on how kettled we are still!

So naughtyyoungboy, what did you say the average price was for a can of beer in these supermarkets ? Also is it thermals weather ? Looking forward to this trip, like Russia I would probably of never came to Swtizerland if it wasn't for the footy

0.45 - 3 franks. it depends what beer you like. imports are the most expensive ones.

when i left the house today it was -7 degrees. the last weeks where arctic but it's getting better. thermals are recommended.

Brilliant thanks. You have been a great help with this trip.

I'm in Basel Wednesday night and Thursday night. What are the chances of getting tickets to Basel v Porto ? Also is there anywhere you recommend to avoid on the Wednesday night ? Heard the Basel fans are a bit nutty.

i don't think that it is sold out. and you don't have to be scared of the basel fans...as long as you're not from zurich.

Go on their online ticket shop and buy tickets, the prices are quite high, but you can get tickets in the lower tier behind one goal for 50chf (about £35), but it does go as high as 150chf which is £105.

Oh Edit: No 50 or 72chf tickets left, so it's 100chf £70 to go.
