The Everton Board Thread

Lets say for argument's sake that's true,
it was true, see if you can find early copies of WSAG for example and read the letters and articles, I'm sure you will find info there on how desperate everyone was for Johnson to go and how nobody was interested
why didn't he sell on to people who were interested and had money to invest at a later date?
He did, Moshiri and Usmanov.... unfortunately
There were interested parties then, and he didn't. You can't claim he's some sort of saviour.
as annoying as some find it he kind of was then
You can't deny that the fact he remained on as chairman getting a fat wedge when he did
agree on that but that's on Moshiri
eventually sell points to a selfish approach on his part, with self interest placed well above the interests of the club.
Maybe maybe not, afterall Moshiri needed a chairman and he was in pplace so it was logical Farhad kept him

What am I saying? You can claim it. You can deny it. Because that's what you do, regardless of the evidence accumulated over the decades. It's what you do, isn't it Bill?
I just lay out historical facts

If he had nothing to invest then why buy the club.
The whole idea of buying a club is to put money into it to take it forward, and have a forward thinking board with a vision for the future of the club.
Kenwright did none of these and his forward thinking was only about himself, leaving the club to stagnate, himself to get richer, and other clubs with a proactive board to leave us floundering with the also rans and relegation certainties.
Why buy it? Because we needed to remove Johnson, it was available, it was unwanted, unloved, mismanaged, declining, stagnant, dying a slow painful death and nobody was interested.
You say the whole idea of buying a club is to put money into it, but annoyingly for us he didn't have that much, and football in general back then had a fraction of the money it has these days, so it wasn't a great investment opportunity for anyone.
As for taking it forward, we'll that did actually happen, we got away from final day.of the season relegation fights.... only for Moshiri to introduce such worries to.us again

I just lay out historical facts
very selective responses there, but no matter, it's what I expected.
One question for you. If Bill came into a couple of billion now, would you like him to buy the club from moshiri?

The problem with that, is it will most likely be a new rebuild when dyche goes or is sacked. I know some fans will throw out that dyche style isn’t defensive and look at the XG since he joined and then rave about how Brighton and Brentford do things.

A lot of our chances are most likely from set pieces, which teams will start to work out over time. The DOF and his team should pick the managers and players, so if a manager doesn’t work out for what ever reason,
The new manager has a similar style and can work with similar players. We go from one extreme to the other. And will waste money on dyche’s players and then be stuck with them, all managers are selfish, so dyche won’t care about doucoure getting a new deal and him staying till 34 or Keane for that matter. But this is where the DOF should control things, that’s not to say a manager shouldn’t have input, because of course he should.

Personally I think dyche’s style is defensive,
That doesn’t mean you can’t create chances on 30% possession, but when you play Brentford yes Brentford and have 20% at home in the 2nd half is definitely a worry for me, in the modern game you will never lay a glove on the top half of the prem doing that. And again some on here will say who cares about the top half let’s just have 2/3 seasons not fighting relegation, but plenty of clubs have proved you can from bottom 6 to top half very quickly, with good recruitment and planning. West Ham, Leicester, Brentford, Brighton.

Let’s survive first, but I do think the fans will turn if we start to get dominated with the ball every week at goodison, trying to hang on for dear life at home 1-0 up v , palace, Leeds etc

If we’re getting results, I can’t see there being any significant disquiet from the fans. It would be madness to start hounding out a manager that is getting results, considering how bad we’ve been in recent seasons.

It works both ways, but let’s see if he starts getting results first. Plenty got sick of moyes’s style and negativity. Even though we finished top 8 for like his last 6 seasons.

Like martinez style when it was working fine, as soon a results took a dip fans turned. And it was only mid table football

Haha You’re missing the point here entirely.

You’re missing the point entirely and changes the facts to suit your narrative.
While Peter Johnson wasn’t the ideal chairman, under his tenure we won a trophy and qualified for Europe.
Financially sound by being in the black and keeping everything in house.
Along came Kenwright, outsourced everything, won nothing, and then got into bed with the lowest of the low just as long as they backed him to keep him at the helm.
Egotistical knob who has single handedly destroyed this great club, and if you can’t see that then you’re as bad as him.

Came to the conclusion ages ago he doesn't like the truth and puts in blatent fibs to suit his / Bills narrative. Pointless discussing anything to do with Bill as his agenda won't change, he's basically a wum who can go on all day all night defending him when at least 95% of the forum are either laughing at him or shaking their heads in utter disbelief at his comments.

Everything i say is 100 % true, I deal in historical facts, considering not once have you ever been able to pull me up and say otherwise on anything specific I think we both know this

Haha You’re missing the point here entirely.
While Peter Johnson was Chairman we won an FA Cup qualified for Europe
If he was a good owner he would of built on that cup side, but rather then do that he refused to back Royle and we lost him and within 3 season it was left to Gianluca Vialli to keep us in the top flight by himself

Yeah, and he let the club rot away, that makes him even worse then Farhad

Agree, he should of kept his shares and not sold to Farhad, the absolute rotter

just as long as they backed him to keep him at the helm.

He maintained it as an ever present in the Premier League and gave us back the hopes and dreams Johnson took away
