The Everton Board Thread

This thread can largely be summed up as everyone and his dog - certainly of the Everton persuasion, think this Everton board, and subsequent ones before, from Bumbling Bill onwards (and some before) have taken Everton backwards, it will take years and years to repair the damage caused. The current incumbent has to be the worst Chairman ever. Despite the fact he has thrown some money at it, there has been little plan as to have to spend it, build a team and be proactive with pushing us forward. We have missed so many opportunities, it beggars belief. We have bounced from one disaster to another, month on month, year on year. The damage isn't complete as much as we are still under serious threat of relegation.

Whilst we have shown some creativity in the transfer market, strengthening the defence and midfield, but we have sacrificed hugely up front, so we really haven't moved forward at all

It's almost been a breath of fresh air for some to not have to think about Everton for the last week or two.

When will it end.

We've missed the boat my friend - the teeth gnashing has come a decade too late.

Short of a gulf state buyout the days of us or anyone being able to truly compete are over. Yes a new board may mean we're around top 7-10 spots every few seasons but you can forget seeing EFC win a PL title or play CL football because even if Bill Gates bought us tomorrow and hired the best minds around to come on board how does that help us in competing with clubs who can spend £150+ million every season paying CL quality players 200k+ a week contracts when we're bound by FFP/P&L?

You can only increase revenues by being successful but how can you be successful when you are not allowed to go to a gunfight with a gun ? Look at Leicesters 1 in a million purple patch - PL Champs, FA Cup winners yet struggling financially and have less revenue than us. Chicken and egg situation.

Top flight football will essentially be a gulf state willy waving contest in a few years and we've missed the boat.

Ah yes, the answer to everyones problems, good old Microsoft Bill!!

But yes the rest is, sadly, not far removed from the reality.

Good Times and all

He was there for the Watford debacle.

That was the last game he attended.

It's hard for you to accept, Prenno....but when we're talking about lack of guts you also need to say your hero also showed a distinct lack of guts over the Benitez episode.

Between the Chair and the CEO they're responsible for the football club. The owner/main shareholder is there to sign the cheques. Does his ownership give him rights to interfere? Yes.... But it doesn't stop the rest of the board going head to head with him to convince him otherwise. Kenwright KNEW the fans would turn toxic as soon as results started to turn but rather than fight tooth and nail he protected his own and the position of Denise. Another layer of protection.

"Let's not cause a ruckus Denise, we're on a good thing here. Front row seats, million quid a year each.... When things go wrong we can give our pet journos a knowing look and they'll deflect any blame away from us... It's all Farhad after all."

There's a reason Bill's 24/7 'search for investment' lasted over 15 years. It was essential he found a useful idiot who's happy to keep writing cheques at Bills request. His vanity means he has to remain front and centre, Mr. Everton.

We have been hamstrung in the market because we have spent like a teenage lottery winner. Purchase after purchase after purchase. Nobody has once said to Moshiri "We can't do this, there's rules to follow." That's the boards job. Theve been negligent. Moshiri didn't sell the Brazil #9 for 50 million, the league forced us to because we were out of control.

Any sensible buyer for Everton would have looked at our recent history when negotiating the deal.

Founder members of the premier league, but have lost ground on so many 'smaller' teams with far smaller supporter numbers.

Ran up ever increasing debts despite the game being awash with money.

Continual selling of assets (players and property) despite the game being awash with money.

Youd consider the evidence and think:

"maybe this board are not the best people to protect or even grow my investment.'

You'd thank them for their time and get the whole top layer of management replaced.

As I said, good old Bill carefully selected Moshiri. His useful idiot.

Does Moshiri need to go? Yeah, probably. It's a shame because he's shown more ambition on and off the field that most other owners combined.

Does Kenwright and his army of arse sniffers who genuinely believe 7th was magnificent, and we've enjoyed good times under his leadership? Undoubtedly.

The only comfort I take from it all is he's old and nobody lives forever.

Bravo sir, send that to the club and the Echo.

It will ultimately end with relegation and proper fan unrest, like they`ve never seen before and won`t be able to hide from.

Weird how FFP didn't stop us from spending 600million on players and sacking 8 managers tho, weird hey.

You can cry about FFP all you like, but we had ample opportunity to do something and we failed, miserably.

But sure, blame others if it makes you feel better.

Thank God for FFP or we would wasted more money.

Well we spent 600 because we brought in 360.

No mate, don’t you know that all the other clubs spent £500m to go backwards and fight relegation before they eventually got it right, it’s just normal bro. Bloody FFP.

That was his last game? So he inflicts this mess on us but cant face the music? What a charlatan.

If Moshiri wanted Rafael Moshiri gets Rafael and there is nothing anyone could of done about it, no matter how much Bill tells him not to do it he wouldn't listen, and he didnt. Moshiri is majority share holder, Moshiri owns the club, it literally belongs to him, its his property, if he wanted to he could paint Goodison red and change the shirt colour to green.
And by that Im not even sticking up for Kenwright, im pointing about a straight forward fact which some choose to ignore time and time again, to put it in simple terms everything that has happened since Moshiri came is 100% of his doing and his employees cant stop him.

Actually getting back to the Rafael thing, what is still very funny is there was a lot of fume then from some of the anti Bill crowd because they thought he was chasing Moyes.... then Rafael showed up HAHAHA

"Let's not cause a ruckus Denise, we're on a good thing here. Front row seats, million quid a year each.... When things go wrong we can give our pet journos a knowing look and they'll deflect any blame away from us... It's all Farhad after all."

His vanity? He earned the right but Moshiri didnt have to do it, he chose to do it, ignore that as much as you like but Bill remaining hasnt hurt us, if he has explain why didnt he damage us when he owned us? You cant

Lost ground? I think ever present in the Premier League and one floating around top 8 wasnt too bad when you consider what happened to Blackburn, Sunderland, Newcastle, West Ham, Villa....etc

Ran up ever increasing debts despite the game being awash with money.

We literally just had to sell Richarlison, so the selling of players isnt something you can really moan about Bills ownership since it still giong on, besides most wantedto go

Probably? What? haha how can you look at where we are now and say probably? its vital he goes before we actually go under, your relectant to really call him out but happy to call out Bill time and time again. The only thing that can actually save us is him going, Bill leaving wont help us at all, just like him stepping down as owner didnt help us

Does Kenwright and his army of arse sniffers who genuinely believe 7th was magnificent, and we've enjoyed good times under his leadership? Undoubtedly.

The only comfort I take from it all is he's old and nobody lives forever.
Give me 7th over any place we have finished under Farhad, he even shamfully sacked a manager who got us 8th once and some Evertonians actually still think that was a good idea
