Equally i think an interesting figure would be the loan fees we shell out (other operating costs????), they must touch about 6 mill, that for me is a Junior Hoillett who i would prob prefer.

You'd prefer Junior Hoillett to Pienaar, Straqualursi, Drenthe and Donovan? Really?

Loans are part of the modern game, especially now with the financial fair play rules coming in. For a club like Everton (no sugar daddy, average stadium & fanbase size) loans are a great option and one of the reasons we have consistently punched above our financial weight under DM is that we have been able to have very good players for very little. Donovan alone is worth more than Hoillett imho.

The man may be the devil to some but Kenwrong did loosen up the pocket book enough to bring in Jelavic. That was more than a lot of teams did. Just saying...

I don't think Kenwright can really take credit to be honest.

Gibson was off Fergie and Jelavic was off McCoist.

Scottish connection and Moyes agent brother is my guess.

He takes the flak when we dont buy.

I was just giving him credit when we actually do.

Of course most of it is down to Moyes, for actually highlighting the players he wanted and using his football contacts to get them in, but The Board must take some credit, its only fair.

I'm not going to give credit to someone for something they're supposed to be doing and they sure as hell shouldn't be asking for it.

This. It wasn't the BU that forced their hand. It was the growing threat of RELEGATION if they didn't do something to bolster the squad, which would have had unimaginably dire consequences for everybody concerned with the club.

A bit of credit is due for going the extra mile to push the Pienaar deal through, but that's a minor point in the grand scheme of things.

^^^ This post is brought to you by the truth.

Moan all you want. Y'all were predicting two major outs (Felli, Rodwell, etc) and no ins, and now you're backtracking and saying dead wood clearance for decent players isn't enough.

Don't remember seeing Fellaini mentioned as leaving, and Rodwell by some guy shaggin his mar down the road or something. Fact is in Summer a big name is going to go, Stand On Me as a famous poster would say, purely down to the financial problems we have. It's a matter of when not if mate.

Ha Ha. Read that comment back to yourself mate.

Everton 2012 - the club where dead wood clearance is 'enough'.

That should be the new motto.

Admit it. The club FAR exceeded your expectations. Why is that a bad thing?

Blue Union members were stating there would be no buys and most likely a big name sale, neither of which was true. They were wrong, i don't see why that's such a big deal for either side to accept.

I don't think anybody is really saying that the board have done swimmingly or that this should be enough to satisfy fans, but it is a clear improvement over the last couple of windows, let's try and be happy with that instead of moaning eh ?
