The 'diving Panel' farce

Are any of them better than Pickford and available on a free?

Damn.webp

The pen was soft. Just like DCL’s at the pit last season. But if a defender puts his hands on an attacker in the box then they run the risk of something happening- that’s the exact line that was used last season for us so there’s no point moving the goal posts now because it doesn’t suit us.
At least their was contact in the DCL one a puff of wind fetched him down - waits for @Bungle lol

In the cup game Adam Lallana went down like an expendable actor being dragged underground in Tremors. A penalty softer than diving into a vat of Lenor.

.

I mentioned this last night, Shearer said it was a dive and Danny Murphy was a panelist and said "well I don't care". He was supposed to be an impartial pundit and Shearer got absolute pelters on his twitter.

Yesterday Luiz grabs Del by the arm but Murphy says there isn't enough contact to warrant a pen yet when Salah got touched by Dummits fingernail he said "well he shouldn't have gave the referee a chance to make a decision"

Dyche was right to come out and call them a diving gang of knobheads. Silva should have done it when Mane, Salah and Sturridge all tried to buy a pen in the Derby by diving.

The only way you will get these clubs not getting decisions in their favour gane after game is by pulling up every single decision which goes in their favour game after game after game

The incidents aren’t 100% similar, but both were soft (DCL’s less so) penalties. Also how can you say there was no contact on salah? Dummet clearly touches him lol. Enough to go down? Probably not (definitely not). Just think the “outrage” in this thread is a bit OTT. To be fair though, it’s the FA who have opened the can of worms on this one when they penalised Niasse. There’s been countless incidents since then not punished so I’m not sure why everyone is annoyed salah isn’t getting retrospective action- aside from Niasse and Lanzini loads of players have gotten away with it and there hasn’t been a thread created about it

The touch on his arm was more contact than DCL headed goal v Spurs that would have put us 2-0 up at that crucial time of the game- a very good post by you though - my argument is TV pundits like Danny Murphy should not be on that panel ever not even a red .....

100% agree on the DCL goal vs spurs. The issue is do you blame the defender for going down easy or do you blame the ref for being a wuss. Just like with Salah yesterday I go for the latter. He’s gone down under contact hoping the ref might give him something- seeing it on MOTD it didn’t look like anyone seriously appealed and it didn’t even sound like the crowd were that desperate for it. Refs need to stop inadvertently removing all contact out of the so-called contact sport and show a bit of bottle.

As for skeleton being on the panel... there are no words. Useless player, useless pundit, useless panellist. Will never cease to amaze how, especially when you consider just how many pros there will have been in the history of the game, the same pool (a valid pun) of people end up on the TV or seemingly now on regulatory panels! Ah well, that’s a whole other issue.

"All too predictable innit. Someone from Cardiff or of similar ilk will be done with that charge next, if at all. Not a chance the RS will be punished"

Fixed that for you

There was very minimal contact, but not enough to make him go down. Irrespective of this he stayed on his feet and then decided to go down, he didn’t go to ground instantaneously, so it was a dive. Considering arsenal and city are their next two games, he was never going to be banned. Special dispensation club strikes again.

Can't help feel the disallowed DCL goal in the spurs game should have had more attention. Sanchez clearly play acts to con the ref into a goal saving free kick. I don't see how it's any different.
