We we won't even win the toss of the coin against them. Never seen an Everton team that has such little cojones than this one. They accept they are beaten before they cross the line in too many games & this attitude has crept into our side - bizarrely it's been accepted by those in the boardroom given past comments when we have played the top six sides - I can't comprehend how that's considered acceptable. Regrettably, it's become a regular and accepted norm by the club.
I hate that Everton have no fight any more, we are one of the softest teams in this league because we have little heart, belief in what we are about or confidence. We show that much respect to some sides that they simply run through us and openly game manage us as they know we won't fight to get back in it. Lacking leaders and proper Everton men in our team. Derby? More like headers & volleys when you were a kid. Never thought I'd see an Everton team with such a lack of character and pride in that famous Royal Blue shirt. But it's this one.
All that said, I'd like to think there's a good team in there somewhere; I just don't see it often. Getting old these days but somehow I have this romantic view that they should care like we do. Maybe they do and I'm wrong. Not sure the Derby even matters to a lot of them. Just another game but if our team got this club and what values we stand for it'll be a very different Everton that turns up next week. I hope so.
