Other than paying top dollar to get the manager and backroom staff we have, begin the restructuring of the club (Director of Football etc...), refinancing our debt to enable us to move forward, help provide the basis for a potential waterfront stadium rather than being content with a 'Tesco Express' in Kirkby, helping securing greatly enhanced sponsorship deals like USM Finch Farm and SportPesa (yes I believe he was key to things like this - e.g. buying the Liver Building that now hosts their HQ)... shall I continue?
There is more to making an impact at a football club than breaking a transfer fee record - this isn't Football Manager or FIFA.
I think between the £100 million warchest rumors and people like Esk saying that we could play with the big boys financially, the expectations got too high. There should be no debate that Moshiri has turned things around at Everton. It was never going to be an instantaneous change in on-field results. Moshiri was never going to spend money like Chelsea and City did. Even if he wanted to, he couldn't because of Financial Fair Play rules.
This is a big window for Everton. With Walsh and Koeman working together to analyze the team and form a plan this past year, I have good expectations. Will the adds be enough to offset potential losses of Lukaku and Barkley? It's hard to say but I hope so.
